Who hasn’t heard of fondue? My boyfriend and I decided to give the melting pot after a scheduling issue with a friend caused a cancellation. The staff was absolutely wonderful, so knowledgeable and considerate. The food was well, it definitely could have been better I wish there were salt and pepper on the tables. But honestly the price tag just outweighs any real pleasure my boyfriend and I got out of it almost 200 dollars. So 100 per person to cook our own food. I could have done that at home, the staff and atmosphere are the best part.

My family dined at the Louisville location on Feb. 2 to celebrate my daughter's 13th birthday. Our reservation was at 7:00 p.m., and there were six people in our party including my wife, mother-in-law, and two sons.During our dinner, a party of 6 women were seated at the table directly behind us, and as their conversations escalated, it was determined they were celebrating a bachelorette party. Unfortunately, the comments they made as the dinner progressed became worse and worse, vulgar, sexual in nature, and so bad that my wife finally spoke up to let them know we had children at our table. At that remark, they commented back that children shouldn't be out this late if they don't want to hear things like this. After that remark, I got up and went to the hostess and asked to see the manager. He came over to me at the hostess stand and I asked if he knew what was going on at the table behind ours. He said he did, and was sympathetic, stating he had kids as well. I paused to see what he was going to do about it. He asked if we were done with our meal, to which I replied, "We are now." We had just started on our dessert, but I was not going to subject my family to that atmosphere any longer. He asked if he could get us any dippers to go, but still did not offer to say anything or do anything about the party at the table behind ours.I paid our bill in full and left. All I got from the manager was an "I'm sorry". To say that I was disappointed at how this was handled is an understatement. I would encourage that there be some type of training for staff, especially managers, to be able to handle unruly customers in situations like these. In what was supposed to be a celebratory evening for our daughter's 13th birthday turned in to a horrific experience for my family.

Food was not what I expected. The steak was poor quality meat. Bar had food from the floor stuck to it for crown mold, that I couldn't help but notice from my table across the room. The best part of one of the worst dining experiences ever was the overworked waitress.

Great experience overall. Server asked if we had been there before, and we said no. She then took drink order, waited for bar drinks to come out and deliver them before explaining the menu. Not the end of the world, just a lot of sitting and waiting to figure out answers to our questions.

Very nice place, we come here atleast once a year and the food and service are always top notch. However, this most recent time we were sat at a weird little corner booth. You couldn't look up anywhere because the booth was facing two other booths and we felt a little awkward. No privacy. The normal booths however provide plenty of privacy.

My partner and I went for Valentine's day. Our reservation was for 9:30pm but we did not get seated until 10:30pm. Our waiter I believe was Jared, he was very friendly and energetic. He did a great job explaining the gist of the place to my partner who had never been. The food was good, I think their regular menu is way better than the Valentines special. It's definitely overpriced. Normally, it's around $100 for 2 people but since it was a holiday it was $270 for the 2 of us after the 18% gratuity. The only difference between how it is usually was the single candle and rose petals they add to the table. It did come with a complimentary glass of champagne or sparkling grape juice for those under 21, a small vase with a few roses, as well as a $25 giftcard for your next visit. We did leave an extra tip just because it was 12:30am by the time we got out of the restaurant with several tables still seated and eating. The place is very clean and well kept. I will definitely be going again but not for a holiday.

It was nice. Food was seasoned perfectly. My wife loved the house dressing for the salad. Portions were perfect. We went for our Valentines dinner, so the noise was only because it was packed with a wait when we were leaving. When we arrived a few minutes before our reservation. We were seated a few minutes after we arrived and before our reservation time. Our server was awesome and from what I could hear from other servers they were all pleasant and really knowledgeable about the menu.

Kenya was a wonderful server who made sure all our needs were tended to & all our wants were catered to. She was great! There's either a design or scheduling issue at this location though. At others we've been to there are proper waiting areas so crowds aren't literally bunched in front of tables waiting for a seat. If they don't add on a proper waiting area, they need to add a larger gap of time between table bookings cause the crowd in front of the door & coughing over tables is ridiculous. In regards to ambiance I have no idea why the lights r so bright in what should be a cooler, more romantic atmosphere. And the noise level was so loud that in a 2 seater booth, we could barely hear eachother. Kinda disappointed w the way this restaurant is designed and the atmosphere but the service & food r great!

Went for Valentine's dinner with my wife. Overall nice restaurant unique dining experience. Over all value was average for the meal. Will come back at some point but will not make a regular dining spot.

Honestly, The food was meh we all got something different. You get a salad which is a pretty small mixed greens salad, then cheese fondue at the beginning which comes with bread, apples, I believe one other can't recall now. When we were done eating the fondue cheese it was dinner time, the waiter came out and saying our dinner is almost ready will be out soon. The next thing we get put on the table is a cast iron skillet and the warmer or stove top was turned on, I was kinda like ok wonder what that is for... well why not out comes our food all raw not cooked at all, by this time we had already been there 1.5 hours and had plans right after dinner needed to still be daylight though. The skillet was not huge so you can maybe do 3 or 4 chunks of meat per person because it's only one skillet and one burner on the table. So you cook a little, eat a little, cook a little, eat a little etc.. now I got chicken literly it might have been a chicken breast split down the middle and one of those halves is what you get. Anyway needed to add that. No seasoning on the table salt, pepper etc. So plain it is unless you like dipping sauces you get more of those then meat it seemed like lol.Next thing you get is chocolate fondue with rice Krispy square cut in 4 pieces, a small sponge cake cut in four pieces, 2 chocolate covered marshmallows, 2 pieces of cookies, 2 pieces of brownie these all are bite size that's it to dip into your fondue.Ok so then we get the bill.... over 200.00 for 3 people. One glass of wine, and just what you see above. One had a vegetarian tray, and the other was a few pieces of mix meat.So all in all you get to order food, share some cheese, eat a tiny salad, cook your own food, and share a desert. The price was horrible for what we got. Because of that we probably won't be back.

It was amazing! The best dinner experience I've ever had when eating out! And our waitress was very good and helpful! Everything was amazing!

We love dining at the melting pot for date nights and special occasions. The food and experience is always great. This time the server could have been a little more enthusiastic, part of the experience that makes the melting pot so great is the servers explaining the options and their favorites to you, ours didn't do that this time and just preferred to take our order and come back rarely to check on our drinks. Where we were sitting this time was also not well ventilated & the table behind us was grilling so the smoke from their table bothered my eyes. But, not to say that this will keep us away because we've been several times before and it's always been great!
