Overall a nice experience, very slow as in attendance for a Sunday Brunch. Quick for food. No fountain drinks but a can of Diet Coke.
We had been here a number of years ago and loved the vegetarian chili. That's what we returned for. Also the bourbon list is so extensive and wonderful.
My husband and I went for mom's day. It was delightful, relaxing, and great ambience. We ate outside and I enjoyed my meal and the seating.
We arrived and seated quickly. We were then ignored for 20 minutes. No one stopped by at all. I only saw a few tables. The place looked empty. I understand why now. Everyone looked at us though. We left quietly. We went to another local restaurant that happily served us.
First and definitely not the last time we will visit the Silver Dollar when in Louisville. Great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit. Had a neighborhood feel. like CHEERS! Seemed like a lot of returning locals. Very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. HIGHLY RECOMMEND as also reasonably priced and staff very attentive.
I've been here several times for brunch but first time for dinner and I love it just as much. Perfect spot for local fare and good vibes. Casual but amazing quality of food. I really like the tacos and cheese dip! Great location for a little walk after too.
This is a must stop on your Louisville, KY trip or night out. The staff are all knowledgeable and welcoming making this not only a great stop for locals but for travelers to feel like locals! And the food was superb, the amount of flavor Chef packs into “simple” dishes is nothing short of Amazing! Enjoy your next meal and be sure to bring the good vibes from wherever you may be coming from.
Brian and the team crushed it at this event. Food and whiskies were paired well. Great crew of people.
I was at the Silver Dollar for a private dining event, which was a single barrel release of one of there's. Everything from the start to finish was so well planned. Great, unique, and delicious one of hor d'oeuvers, pairing cocktails, and well timed service. Staff was all friendly and throughout the entire night.
You will not find a better value in the city of Louisville (or even regionally for that matter) for such an extensive library of bourbon and other spirits. The staff are always friendly and eager to guide you to the right pour and all are well below what other bourbon bars in the area charge for the same drink. Be it allocated, old, or just plain out of left field, the Dollar likely has it and others like it for you to taste and compare. The food is a close second to the drink, and has something for everyone. We've spent many evenings at the Dollar since they reopened and there's a reason it's “our place” now. You owe it to yourself if you're a local or just passing through to make sure you spend and hour (or several) at the bar talking to Brian or any of the other staff members who will ensure a great evening among family and friends.

Overall we enjoyed dinner, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The kitchen was probably the weakest link of our experience. Desserts came out before main courses for part of the party and had to be sent back to keep them from melting all over. The table did get quite cluttered of dishes several timesband we could not fit anything else they brought to the table and get nothing was hauled away. The grilled cod was overall good,.the shrimp cocktail was good but the ceviche in the cocktail was the best we had ever had. The apple cinnamon tamales were absolutely fantastic for all who had them. It was a holiday and we had 7 In our group. I will definitely come back to try it again on a regular night to check out the normal menu. Hopefully a better experience and I will adjust my review accordingly.
Great southern food, exceptional service and a huge whiskey offering. I'll be visiting this place each time I'm in Louisville as it is truly a gem

We have been supporting The Silver Dollar since day one as it is conveniently located to our home and was always a solid choice along with friendly staff. Since the "re-opening" back in September, many menu items that we have grown fond of are now gone which mainly consists of the vegetarian items. On a recent visit, my wife got the vegetarian chili - usually a solid choice in the past, now very disappointing and full of carrots. Carrots???? It's sad, especially in a diverse neighborhood, that the vegetarian options are so limited and frankly, not great. The Impossible Burger option is now gone. The veggie friendly potato taquitos are gone. The "original" bean burger is gone. I'm not even the vegetarian but the oversight in this "foodie town" for vegetarian options is vast.
Vegetarian options: Sadly, there are now only one or two options that beg for help.

Parking was easy on the street and things kept getting better after that. We started outside on Saturday morning for brunch with a group of 8 and 2 biscuit baskets. Amazing homemade apple butter and some sweet saucy syrup on the side that I could eat by the spoonful. Most of ordered the chilaquiles. Eggs were perfectly over easy and the tomatillo sauce was bright and tangy. Huevos rancheros were also well received and the avocado toast looked great as well though a little on the petite side. The bloody Marys were perfectly spicy and appropriately strong. The love is strong you should enjoy for yourself as soon as possible too!

Uncommon brunch options. Cool patio. Basket of biscuits with housemade syrup and apple butter were fantastic! Huevos rancheros was yummy.
