Food was delicious! Loved the hotpot and bbq just know if one person wants hotpot the whole table has to order hot pot and vice versa! Our service was a little iffy had to order things multiple times to receive them but not a bad experience at all! Will definitely return

I got to visit Top1 a few days ago. The quality of the food was great! The meats were marinated so well and came off the grill delicious! And the selection of different meats was very extensive, really cool! Of our groups choices the favorites were the chicken bulgogi, beef bulgogi and short rib. We ordered some seafood- garlic shrimp, jumbo shrimp and blue crab. Pass. Some other tables ordered Alaskan crab that looked great but the upcharge didn't seem worth it to our group. All the vegetables were very fresh! No complaints at all! Ordering was difficult. It was hard to flag down the waiters and use the online PDF menu. But once we got the orders placed the food came out shortly. We came on a Saturday night and the wait time was over an hour. To be expected for downtown on a weekend. There was no good waiting area though so we had to wait in our car which was kind of inconvenient. The actual building could use better ventilation. We were choking on the smoke in it! My friend has asthma and had to step outside at a few different points. Sauce bar was dirty and not well stocked. Desserts were American and Greek? Kind of weird. But included in price. Next time I would choose either hot pot or grill. I got the Tom kha gai soup base which was incredible! Super tangy and sweet with a little bit of spice. My friends got original and Szechuan. Szechuan didn't have much flavor besides spice! Overall, we got our moneys worth in food. The $40 price was crazy but getting to eat for 2 hours made up for it a bit. I'm not sure I would chose this place again. Then again, hot pot and kbbq might not be my thing.

I have been to many k-bbqs and was excited for a lunch option. this one needs some improvement. I saw several reviews about ventilation. So it appears that to correct ventilation issues they keep the grills turned way down. So you don't get grilled meat you get steamed or lightly browned meat and eventually cooked vegetables. They were out of multiple meat items, like chicken. We ended up eating a lot of salmon because that was really the only thing that you could halfway cook on the cold Grill. I asked the server to turn ours up because it wasn't hot enough and she told me they have been keeping them turned down. So she turned it up and 2 minutes later someone else came by and turned it down again. Only two banchan and a few sauces... the servers were friendly and attentive and the place was nicely done although a little cold. So hopefully they'll work out the issues and it will be another great addition to the Louisville food scene.

Love this place! If you're not aware of how Korean bbq and hotpot works, you do have to cook whatever you order with the grill and burners at the table. I would enjoy more side options of maybe more banchan choices. The food is so good and there are so many options for meat/seafood/veggies...etc. Wonderful service and very helpful. I have enjoyed myself every time I go! I've went with just a friend and another time with a large group and both times I was seated quickly.

Servers are extremely nice and helpful! I'm a retired chef and I noticed some kinks in the service that will probably get worked out as the restaurant gets on its feet. This restaurant will keep your grill low. Meaning, your grill won't ever get hot enough to sear your meat. Which not only means it takes much longer to cook, but you're loosing that delicious maillard reaction. I assume it's to keep the level of smoke low inside. This has to be an exhaust issue. At one point (I believe the owner) turned our grill OFF. This was extremely annoying because I was cooking a full ribeye at the time! The food itself? Delicious! Well done. Prep chef could use more attention to detail -- there was plastic wrap in the chicken but I caught it before we cooked it. Expo and Host needs a bit of work. It's first come first seat. That's ok. But when dinner rush comes, the new people start crowding inside the front and it can feel pretty chaotic. Because they don't take names sometimes people get seated accidentally out of order. If they took names, and made parties stand outside, it would be more orderly. I really like this place and it's within walking distance to my house. But we are going to wait a bit until the service gets more experience or when they get a better exhaust system.

Waiter disappeared when food arrived had no idea how long to cook anything(I am part korean and have been to these places before signs were placed near table for cooking times at others) we over or undercooked everything one utensil was given for raw and cooked product. Was never instructed on soup it was never on we never ate the soup still charged. Now we are both sick. Was told of 50% discount by manager who was nice and I thought this was fair as we left still hungry and barely ate but As I signed my name on check realized it was 15%. Not sure if there was miscommunication. Overall a terrible and disappointing experience. I did have good communication with manager hopefully there’s better communication with future guests on cooking procedures and cooking times. As the quality of the food did seem good. I just left feeling hungry confused ripped off and just un happy and now both Me and my gf are dealing with stomach issues. Admittedly at my own cooking hand but again was given one cooking thing for raw and cooked product seafood/meat etc.***I see now from other reviews we weren’t even given bowls for the soup..not only did waiter never turn on our soup till we were about to leave. We thought we were supposed to eat it from the cooking pot itself. Our service was horrendous.

I and my family just got back and overall had a wonderful experience and we all agreed that we will be returning. First of all - overall 5 star. For the price you pay with the servic and food, it was a good deal for 3 people. Everything was tasty, our server was very helpful with recommendations, and we all had our fill of great food. The amount of options of beef, chicken, veggies, etc is very good. Also I enjoyed the music selection playing in the restuarant. Nice variety.Nitpicks to think about (they are small) - it was easy for the taller folks to accidently hit the bottom of the hot pot under the table. I hit it a couple of times and saw others do it also.Also - even though the restaurant is faily open, spacious, and atmospheric - is there a way to mitigate some of the noise as it can be a bit hard to hear talking across the table. I saw other reviews pointing that out also.Like I said though - 5/5 overall experience and will be coming back again. Thank you to all the hard working staff who is doing their part to make this restaurant a success.Thanks again.
