We have never had a bad meal at this lovely breakfast and lunch restaurant. Locally owned and located inside Norton Commons neighborhood makes for a bright and cheery experience. You can never go wrong when ordering the lemon cream cheese crepes top with your choice of fruit blueberries or strawberries. The fish sandwich is huge and delicious. The servers are always nice and very helpful.

This a really great place for a top shelf breakfast or lunch. Food is fresh and locally sourced, wide selection of choices on the menu, served by friendly staff that are attentive but not hovering over you so they can clean the table to accommodate the next customer. Just what I am looking for at my age 71. Sometimes just sipping that second or third cup of coffee makes it a great memory

Had a wonderful breakfast this morning. Had the best service ever from my waitress Shayna. She always greets me with her friendly beautiful smile. She has waited on me and my colleagues many times in the past and has always given us wonderful service. Thank You Shayna for always brightening my day.

The first time I visited was a Friday morning and it was super underwhelming, bland, and the potatoes were undercooked. This visit, a Saturday morning, everything was well prepared and I was happily surprised. Still wouldn't say the menu is anything special but you can't beat having a place that has solid food.

After about a 15-20 minute wait, we were seated for brunch. I had an omelet with bacon and pepper jack cheese, and it was delicious. Quaint environment. Great service. Parking was a little tricky...

We had omelets, pancakes, and eggs. Everything was good and the service was great but $40 for 2 adults and a child for breakfast was a bit much. Nice atmosphere in an upscale part of Louisville so I suppose it would cost a little more.
This 'cafe's is one of my favorites, ever, in Louisville area! They do things so well: atmosphere, personalities and both breakfast and lunch dishes.

This is one of the only places I've visited several times without a single issue-seriously! I've at least been here 3 or 4 times, and everything has been fantastic each time, for each person in our party. That includes my in- laws, who seem to have issues almost every time we go to breakfast with them. Food is wrong, not cooked right, just plain bad, missing items, or taking an obscene amount of time. They just have rough luck frequently. However at Verbena Cafe, we are a perfect 3 for 3! It's really a blessing when everyone can find something they like, and an outing doesn't feel like a compromise. Verbena Cafe has something for everyone, including my vegan mother in law. My father in law typically gets the steak and eggs, with which he seemed to be quite pleased each time. My beautiful wife generally goes for an omelette, and that always looks amazing as well. Personally, I can't pass up the corned beef hash! It is so flavorful and perfectly filling. Definitely in my top two, and I would recommend it to nearly anyone. Verbena Cafe gives us something to look forward to in the morning. We will certainly be back soon. Cheers to the entire crew for running a great restaurant!

I enjoy the home cooked food @ Verbena Cafe in general, however a consistent 45 min wait time for breakfast with Kraft Mac & cheese for the kids does not give Verbena 5 stars. Sorry I’ve tried many times. I know the owner is a hard working woman & cannot take that from her. I’d give a 3.5 if that were an option. Keep up the consistent home cooked food for your regulars.
