Cam was wonderful. Got us in for Thanksgiving dinner after other restaurant overbooked it's seating. Couldn't have been more helpful.

Don’t get the fish. 🤢 I barely made it home without getting sick. I had my suspicions because it had a slimy mushy texture so I only took a few bites. I could hear the beeps of a microwave being used in the kitchen intensively.

The food was okay but the very nice server didn't have to a clue. We ordered a bottled beer and received a draft? Had to ask the hostess for help and she just blankly stared at me. Found the server myself and it took him a long time to bring 1 bottle of beer. The pasta was okay with minimal portions. Will not be back, the other restaurants want your business so that's where we'll go. Also found a used napkin on my seat in the booth...

Our first time visiting Gibson's and it exceeded our expectations. I had the Sea Bass and it was amazing! Can't wait to return.

Rare steak was well done, zero red, absolutely unacceptable. However others at the table got pasta which they said was great. Get the pasta not the steak.

Good food, friendly service. But food is much pricier than the google reviews have led us to believe. It would be $10-$20 a person if you only ate off the kids menu or got a sandwich. It’s closer to $30-$50 per person.

Poutine fries were good. Ask for the BBQ sauce in the side. The beet salad was amazing. Hubby got a club sandwich and it was basic sandwich nothing special. Service was slow. But we did come during the fall festival. Had to ask status of beer though as waitress forgot.

We barged in with seven people for lunch on Friday, and the crew at Gibsons welcomed us, made us feel at home, and did their best to make everything just right. Our food was great, all of it, and I was just amazed at how hard the staff worked to make everything come together. The food was better than bar food. I had the grouper, and it was delicious. I heard no complaints about the food from anyone. It was just really nice to have a good crew of people welcoming you and willing to work to make everything great. Thanks guys.
Wish I had taken pics, cause the food was pretty, too.

Food was great, Service was excellent! The only thing that was a 4*, we were charged a $5.40 Service charge for 2 - $15 burgers. Then the waitress informs us, none of that comes to her, and she still needs us to tip her. So, 2 - $15 burgers and water turned into $45!!
I may not be back, if this is the case at all of their restaurants, as I have heard that was the case in Frankfort at the Brown Barrel, that they also own.

Their door had closing time as 10 PM. I arrived at 9:10 and I ordered right after a young woman ordered wings. I ordered walleye fish. She got her wings, but they told me sorry the kitchen is closed. This was at 9:15. Keep in mind that their posted closing time is 10 PM.

Stopping in Midway for work nearby and was impressed by the decor. That’s about where it ended. This restaurant wants to be a “high end” restaurant (My risotto was $40), which completely doesn’t match the feel of the small Kentucky town, where Main Street is less then a football field long.

We should have just left when the high school age hostess and servers knew almost NOTHING about the menu. We asked several basic questions about things listed on the menu (What does Rotating Beer mean? Is the Rosoto Spicy? Is your salad ice berg or leaf lettuce? Can you bring balsamic on the side? Etc.). The answer to EVERY question was “I’m not sure”. And then we would have to ask her if she could find out…. After she just stared at us with a blank look after each “I don’t know”. It was actually quite weird.

As for the food… it was “OK”. It seemed like they were trying very hard to make it more gourmet than it should have been for a tiny Kentucky town. And it didn’t work. Flavors were way too strong and didn’t blend well.

Our bill…. An ice tea…. Two beers…. A bruschetta appetizer… Risotto dinner for me and a Sirloin Steak for my wife…. $103.88. Plus tip.

On a positive note, once we took off the freezing cold, oversized shrimp, the bruschetta was very tasty.

A group of 5 of us women came to visit the cute town of Midway. We decided upon Gibsons for dinner. We all had a different meal. It was enjoyable for most of us, except one. She had the crab cake on a bun and she was very disappointed with it. I personally would have sent it back, but she did not. The rest of us were satisfied with our meal. A little pricey, but not over the top.

Food was good during the bourbon and blues festival. Kept noticing the out door bar tender wiping her runny nose with her hand then reaching into the ice chest to fill up glasses for the next drink she was making.

We had our lunch the service was slow but no big deal. I had the fried Grouper platter and it was excellent.
Leaving I went to the restroom and As I was waiting I saw the cook take his bare hands and pick up a hand file of waffle fries and place on a plate. Then he pick up other fried items with his bare hands and place on the same plate.

No telling what else he had touched before he handled that food.

I will never return there
