The Goose and Gander Reviews
Ordered the hot brown. Came to the table like warm. What was even more egregious was there really wasn’t any mornay sauce to speak of with the dish. What do you eat a hot brown for, really, the sauce that covers the other ingredients.
description on menu said grilled crapese sandwich on cibatta bread. I got an unpleasant sandwich on French bread. the tomato and cheese were microwaved with some sort of balsamic dressing . the tomato looked like stewed tomato. the mozzarella was rubbery. I asked for fries. served breakfast potatoes. my server asked if I mined. I said yes. The Goose and Gander is a very nice, reasonably priced restaurant in a little town in Kentucky known for its railroad history. Service was good, and the food was phenomenal. The fried chicken entree and the meat loaf are great. The pepperoni pizza was great with homemade sauce. The Rachel was good, and the reuben was a 4 star too. The strawberry frosty lemon drink was really good. Fries were really good, and brussel sprouts are fried. Decent portions. Sitting outside on the patio is wonderful, and they even brought a water dish out for the dogs. It's worth the drive.
