Thanksgiving: Very upset over today’s fiasco. We so looked forward to Thanksgiving dinner here with our family. We made reservations two weeks ago for 1 pm for 7 adults and 1 baby. When we arrived today there was a mass crowd in and outside the restaurant. It was cold for the many standing outside. Inside was chaos. I asked the crowd who do we give our name to, they said some guy with a clipboard. I asked a staff member, she said the same thing. I finally found the man with the clipboard—he was not only taking names but seating people. I asked how long it would be since we had reservations and he didn’t have a clue. Many people were speaking out but it went unanswered by staff. The folks seated in the downstair section had to walk through the crowd with their plate of food as the buffet was set up in the middle section of the restaurant. We didn’t get seated until after 2 pm. A waitress came and got out drink order promptly and then we went and got in a long line for the buffet. The buffet was set up one-sided only. It absolutely made no sense. It should have been double-sided and when an item needed to be refilled by staff, people would have gladly stepped aside. The line was about 30 minutes long. I will say, The food was very good, but only one dessert option was disappointing. To the owner: Brown Barrel has been in business long enough to know how to handle this event much better than it was. Outdoor heaters should have been on the patio so people waiting would have not all had to crowd inside to escape the cold. The host taking names should not have been seating as well. Patrons should not have had to play find Waldo with the clipboard. He should have been at the front door the entire time. A double-sided buffet is a no-brainer. Reservations should have been spaced out appropriately to keep people from the long wait times. Unless changes are made for next year, we will go elsewhere.
Best restaurant!!! We were visiting for a family wedding and wanted local food.
Everything was super delicious!! We sent our compliments to the kitchen staff for an incredible meal.
Our server Lauren D was an absolute delight! She was bubbly and sweet. Her recommendations were perfect, and she was very attentive. Probably the sweetest server I have ever had.
The price was very reasonable for the portion size.

I’ve been twice and was not overly impressed with the food. I was particularly annoyed that they charged me 4 dollars more for ordering off the kids menu. They don’t offer a senior menu. It wasn’t any more food, just that I was an adult. I am not planning on going back

Western feels!
Lovely server who was very busy during late lunch hours. Cool local vibe for this casual eatery. Had their advertised custom blend cheeseburger. It was cooked to order but for the custom blend tasted quite bland and the texture seemed more like a premade patty then freshly made. I would not go there and order a burger again but there’s plenty other items to choose from. The fries were delicious. My partner got the fried chicken tender salad and said that it was nothing spectacular but standard pub fare. For the price plus tip it was more expensive than say a drive thru like Culver’s. Guess paying for seated service and atmosphere? I’ll check them out again for sure and try something else on the expansive menu.

Great dinner experience with friends. The live music was nice but a little loud, so we asked to be seated outside so we could chat. We had a lovely, quiet dinner on the deck outside. Zander, our waiter, was fantastic. The hostess was very nice to get us moved outside. The food was delicious. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

Great place to stop for lunch. We had a large group and manager was very accommodating. Great food and wait staff. We had a room to ourselves.

Brought my monthly dinner group in tonight expecting a great meal as I had heard many good things and food brought into work from there had always been good, and while the food was okay (overpriced for the portions but decent enough) the uninvited "dinner guests" were not! Fruit flies galore were swarming us as we tried to eat, eventually getting to the point where some in our party just decided to not finish. We had all come in anticipating grabbing dessert after the main meal since it's almost my birthday but decided to wrap things up due to the disgusting conditions (after waiting 15 more minutes for our checks while the "musical talent" in the other room wailed like a cat in heat). We were set in an empty dining area to the side but there was old food mess from previous guests under our table where they hadn't cleaned properly and an overflowing bucket of a/c drippings against the wall which combined is what I believe created the pungent aroma we noticed occasionally during dinner and brought the flies. Server had a good personality but no knowledge of the food and seemed to be spread too thin to be attentive and never offered any solutions or comment to the fly situation (which makes me fear that's so common no one bothers anymore). We were already stating that we would never be coming again before our food even arrived and that was only okay-ish enough to settle that we won't be back. The whole ordeal was an embarrassment for me as I was the one who suggested going there in the first place as my birthday pick. Took pictures of all of it. The Brown Barrel management needs to do some work before they get shut down by a health inspector.

When I ordered my spinach and salmon salad I told the waitress no croutons… I told the waitress I had celiac. When my salad came out it was filled with croutons! The waitress took it back and brought it back like 2 minutes later… there were still croutons in the salad. So instead of making a new salad they picked out the croutons they could find and sent it back out! Terrible experience and they had no respect for my severe food allergy

Gee Willikers, Batman! These meals have to be some of the biggest portion sizes I've ever seen! You get an ENTIRE DINNER PLATE full of the brown barrel tots--which I highly recommend btw. The burger was massive, the catfish was fantastic, and I'm pretty sure they gave us two whole potatoes worth of fries just for a side! I tell you what, if you're hungry, come here and they'll make sure you won't leave that way! We'll definitely return, I'm coming back for that sea bass! ?

First time won't be back. Ordered appetizer 20 minutes later waiter come back said sorry the cook never put it in. Took our order asked for the sauce on dish to be left off she said fine. We had salmon one dish steak another dish. Steak had the wine sauce I didn't want on it and my potato cake. The salmon tasted spoiled it really did I tried wife's salmon. I ate my steak in wine sauce I didn't want but I couldn't eat potato cake. Manager said I will remove salmon ok and didn't we had to wait 30 minutes to leave for just getting the check it wasn't worth the wait to find a Manager again.

Great menu, great service, great atmosphere! We have been to the midway and the Georgetown locations and the food selections are good, the prices are affordable. They have a good selection of affordable meals and they have a good selection of higher end food if you want to splurge for a special occasion ? I believe this is a family owned operation and the employees seem happy. Great place to gather with family and friends. On the recommendations thing under this I am only checking the dishes that I have tried. My family is the sharing kind so each of us usually orders different dishes and we all sample them. Everything that I have tried there has been cooked exactly the way we requested and has been good sized portions and we haven't been disappointed with anything so far :-)
