10/10! We absolutely love Amol. The food is delicious, the service is wonderful and the very reasonable prices. This is our to go place when visiting the area.
I hate Nan roti and palak paneer so good. Second time I eat biryani oh my God it’s really I can’t explain about biryani. It’s a spicy I feel that is not biryani.
I recently visited Amol India around 1:50 PM, hoping to have lunch before their scheduled lunch hours ended at 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, we were denied the lunch portion, which seemed like a strategy to push us towards the more expensive regular menu. This felt quite unfair since we arrived well before the cutoff time.
What concerned me even more was the lack of hygiene I observed. From where I was seated, I could see the staff member handling both dirty dishes and food preparation without gloves. He was touching his face and even the food directly with his hands—this was quite alarming considering health and safety standards.
When our food finally arrived, it was not what we expected. We ordered a panner makhni and sahi panner, which was supposed to be a larger regular($20) portion, but it looked much more like the lunch portion($10), despite being charged for the full price. The spices were not cooked properly and tasted quite raw.
I have been a customer of Amol India for years, and I remember their food being outstanding. However, in my last few visits, the quality has noticeably declined. I still remember their Biryani being rich and flavorful, but now it feels more like fried rice with none of the authentic taste I used to enjoy.
I truly hope Amol India takes these issues seriously—both in terms of hygiene practices and food quality
Food was great. It was hot , very hot .
We have dined in at Amol and also had carry out/delivery several times. It is the closest Indian restaurant that does a good job to keep the dishes more authentic and tasty. The food is fresh and can be adjusted according to your spice level. Some of the dishes we really recommend for vegetarians are saag paneer or mushroom , paneer makhani, mushroom matar, and the dal makhani. The goat curry is delicious if you’re a meat lover. Chicken chilie is a delicious dish also. Try one of these with naan, paratha or roti. They have the typical mango lassi but also one I really like is the rose lassi. The servers have always been courteous and friendly. I highly recommend eating here! You will be a repeat customer I am certain!
We love this restaurant! Literally nothing negative to say - if you like authentic Indian food, this is where you go!
I’d recommend this restaurant for anyone who’s craving Indian food in Newport, KY. I went there after me and my mom visited the aquarium and we both liked the food. Spice levels go up to 10, and I like things on the spicy side, so I ordered spice level 8, while my mom doesn’t really like spicy food, so she ordered spice level 1.
the BEST Indian food!!!!! we have been going here for years. always delicious!!! 10/10
I ordered at this restaurant online, the food was so yummy and full of flavor. I love 🌶️ food I did a level 5 which was too hot, I still loved it. I had goat curry and it does come with fluffy rice, I made a mistake of ordering another rice side and naan; it’s enough for two people. The naan was big. This has to be my 2nd favorite Indian restaurant across the country. I’m a flight attendant and I eat a lot of Indian food. It could have been my no1 if I lived there. Can’t wait to actually go visit the restaurant and try other things on the menu!
Food was excellent, spiciness (5 out of 10) stayed even from start to finish. I was worried a bit because the first bite was notably spicy, but it didn’t get out of hand.
It’s a smaller place, no air barrier, so we were getting blasts from the outside when people came in. Not great when it’s cold.
That won’t stop me from returning though.
The service was great.

I ordered a veg biryani from uber eats and the raita they sent was spoiled, it was smelling bad. And the veg biryani had lots of potatoes which I didn’t like.
I also ordered alo bhatura which was comparatively better than biryani
Best Indian food I’ve ever had. My only complaint is, you aren’t open on Monday.
Food was really good, but Naan a little small. Because of this would have given 4.5 if I could but didn't want to ding a whole point just because I like Naan so much.
Great flavors! We came into town to visit the Newport Aquarium & had already eaten lunch. We visited Amol to have afternoon tea. I was saddened because the gentleman who served us told the cook that we were “desi” because we didn’t order entrees. Maybe we should have mentioned ahead of time that we were only coming in for tea & appetizers. :/
I love their aloo chana, it has such rich and delicious flavor. Rice comes with each dish (a lot of it!) so you don’t need to order it separate. My only challenge with this place is it feels a tad expensive—but mostly because I love to sample a lot of different dishes when I order Indian and it feels hard to do at 19$ a dish! 😜
