Whole the German food is excellent, the cheeseburger for kids is made of steak quality beef, it's amazing! “Went on 2/10/24. We had a blast. The service was great, the food out of this world, and the atmosphere welcoming. I got the chicken wrap, and it never disappoints. My husband got the calzone, and loved it.We were laughing a LOT but the servers were nice about it. We were having a great time.We are from central Kentucky and go to Newport a couple times a year for a getaway.Stop in and get yourself some great food and great service!”

“TLDR: go here, order everything, have no regrets!We hadn't been since they moved to Newport. The building is an adorable converted home with fun and beautiful decor. The staff is all friendly and attentive. Our server Kelly was fantastic! Everything is priced reasonably, especially considering what a unique and high-quality experience you get.Our food was phenomenal: Eggplant Napoleon, Classic Buttermilk Biscuits, Angry Orchard Cider Onion Soup, Fried Chicken & Waffle, and Voodoo Salmon with Safron Purloo.I went there with my spouse and we ended up taking home 2 biscuits, half of each entree (chicken and salmon), and the table bread. So come hungry and plan to take home lunch for the next day!Biscuits: 4 biscuits. Came with honey, butter, and jam. A southern staple perfectly executed.Eggplant: I will dream about this for years to come. If you have never tried eggplant, this is the fish that will make you a believer. Eggplant was thinly sliced and breaded. Not slimy (if you eat eggpant you know this is always a risk at restaurants). The cheese in between laters tasted like soft seasoned cream cheese. The red sauce was also well seasoned and full of veggies. Mmmmmm.Soup: kind of like a BBQ French onion. These ppl know how to layer flavors so well. Every bite you can identify something new.Chicken & Waffles: the breading on the chicken is devine! There's a reason they're famous for Chicken. Sweet potato Waffle, bacon, pecan butter- what's not to love?Voodoo salmon: nice crispiness on the outside of salmon, but still fell apart wonderfully (how perfectly cooked fish should). Sauce, rice, andouille, crawfish- fancy southern at its finest.Thank you to all the Purple Poulet staff- you are part of something really special!”

“What an amazing dining experience. The food was delicious and the drinks complimented the food perfectly. I recommend trying the tiramisu, and the seafood ravioli.Vegetarian options: They have a dedicated menu section for vegetarians that is still as amazing as the rest of the menu”

“Excellent food!! Spice level 1-10, I’m a wimp so I ordered a 2, and there was no heat whatsoever. I think a 3 or 4 would have been fine.Mainly a take-out place so lots of traffic in and out while you’re trying to enjoy your dinner. But, the staff is kind and take good care of you.”

“This is a high -end restaurant. Sitting along the waterfront on the Ohio River, in Newport KY. With a river view. In door & Out- door seating in the warmer weather. I take my family here on Birthday's. The food and service is fantastic. It's very expensive, food and service is worth every penny. Dan was our server,the last two times we were there. I highly recommend the two lobster tails with mixed vegetables with a side of asparagus. And the king crab legs. My wife had a filet mignon and it melted in your mouth. Sorry I did take pictures of the food. I will next time is awesome. It comes and we eat lol. Pictures are from my mom's dad and sister's Birthday's. My mom's was 2023 Dec 31st new Year Eve. They only served off a special menu that night. We couldn't get king crab legs. FYI”

“The day bartender is great. I came in and got my beer and she offered me some food. I wasn't hungry but I couldn't pass up the hotdogs on the rollergrill and chili. She had all the fixings. Think it's cool that she looks out for customers like that. Thumbs up to a nice bar with nice staff.”

“I’ve never had a dinner out that tasted more like homemade food! Had the cowboy pork chop with Kentucky white gravy and it was delicious. From the hostess to the manager, everyone was so nice. Alex, our waitress was so friendly and great!!! Thx Shiners for a great time ?”

“Came in from out of town and found this place. Love everything about it! It's like a hometown local type of bar.... met great people! The bartenders were amazing!! Cory and T made us feel like we were family!! Food was even better then anything we had down here!! Smoked wings on Wednesday were fire!!! They opened at 11 and was sold out by 1230pm! Glad we got some!!! Definitely will come down alot more knowing we felt at home here!!!! Thank you for the best 2 days for now.... until next time!!! Love ya all!!!!¡”
