“Where to even begin....wonderful in every way. I had the Duck entree - absolutely incredible! My next go to is the Short Rib/Gnocci if you are not a duck fan. My husband had the Lamb Chop - outstanding. Service is always great here. Meredith was attentive without being overbearing and provided a positve energy to our meal. If you are a wine connoisseur, try a glass of the reserve offerings. They are pricy for a glass - but a great way to try incredible wines. Can't wait to come back again.”

I tried the clarified margarita and it may be one of my favorite cocktails I’ve ever had. We also tried the special (fish collar) this evening and were blown away. We are so lucky to have a place like Mitas in our beautiful city!”

Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse 505 Vine St, Cincinnati Steak House • $$$$

“I was just bragging about my Wednesday evenings at Jeff Ruby's while working in downtown Cincinnati for 2 years. We were so spoiled! We were eating the ultimate steaks and I do mean the best we've ever had steaks, sushi, cocktails and truly wicked awesome service, and last but not least, the Ambience was superb. You can actually hang around where Frank Sinatra hung with so many stars through the years and it's truly an experience! ❤️. We had the pleasure of meeting Jeff on numerous occasions, and he had a passion for the best. When my honey introduced me to Jeff Ruby's, he told me "I'll never have a better steak ever!". It's true! To this day I have not had a better steak and experience! Unfortunately, I've lost my honey but he taught me so much and showed me more than anyone ever could. I highly recommend this Jeff Ruby's Experience to anyone that can afford it!! It's definitely worth it for a special occasion, Anniversary, Big birthday. Truly Epic!!!!”

“I had an amazing dinner at Colette. It was evident every aspect of the meal was carefully crafted and thoughtfully executed. Sharing dishes is always a terrific way to experience a variety of flavors, so my date and I shared the entire meal. The vol-au-vent as a starter set a high bar with its richness and complexity. The beet salad as a follow-up provided a refreshing yet tart contrast. For the main courses, we ordered two delicious choices in the herded Cavatelli and the steak frites. The meal was better by pairing with a Cabernet Franc. Danny Combs and his team made the experience memorable with their exceptional service and the restaurant's ambiance. Colette is a versatile spot that can handle any occasion with style.”

The Davidson 501 Vine St, Cincinnati French • $$

“We had a reservation for two in the bar area at 6pm and were seated right away. We were heading to a show after. Our server Derek (I think that was his name - it should have been on the receipt but was not), was lovely and attentive. He explained the menu and had some suggestions. Our booth in the bar was very comfortable and it was much more quiet than the main dining area. The place is very attractive for sure. We started with two Bellini Spritzes. The were pretty, but a little too sweet for us. We then ordered the eggplant upon reading reviews that we must order it. Well, "they" were right and we thought it was the best dish of the night. Even if you don't think you like eggplant, just try it. It's prepared tableside, smokey and the flavor combination is out of this world. We also chose the Tuna Tartare Cones. What a unique and whimsical presentation of classic tartare flavors! If you look at pictures, you only see the top. There is the pointy bottom of the cone beneath the wooden holder that holds the cucumber and creme fraiche. It is supposed to be one bite, but we found it hard to jam the whole cone into our mouths. But even in two bites, we would order this again and again. Our mains were the Scallops Grenobloise and Vodka Rigatoni. The rigatoni sauce was fabulous.. The rigatoni was definitely al dente. There was not much sausage in the dish. Now, don't think I'm weird here, but I read reviews that said the scallops were just drowned in brown butter. Pictures showed the same. So when I ordered the dish, I asked for the brown butter on the side. Derek explained that the amount of butter was used to soak the crouton in and said he would have to check with the kitchen. Well, let me tell you that I made the right call. The scallops were cooked perfectly...in butter. The crouton was toasted..in butter. The beans were not cooked enough for us as they were almost raw, and there was only about 2 tbs of squash puree on the plate. Would go back to try more.”

“Today, 11.02.2021, a friend and l were in search of good breakfast food. Before dropping her off, we stopped at the Waffle House on Delhi Pike. The employees at this establishment were some of the warmest and friendliest group of people l have met since COVID. Fast service, our waiter Dante explained how we were able to mix and match the breakfast we had chosen. With the turn of our head, our meals were before us. The grits were freshly made, the toast was to a perfection with butter melted, everything about the meals were on point. The staff keep the restaurant clean. On their idle time they were cleaning the grill and washing down the floor, no one was standing around on their phones. I give the Waffle House ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️”

“My wife and I frequent Maplewood on the weekends for brunch. There are many options in downtown/OTR/northern Kentucky for breakfast on the weekends, but Maplewood is our favorite. The menu has a nice variety of American breakfast options, as well as healthier alternatives. We love the Guajillo Bowl and Mediterranean Bowl, but the Maplewood Hash is also delicious if you are in the mood for something a little heavier. The GM, Erik, often recognizes us and welcomes us back. Erik and his staff always do a great job with service, and mitigating the crowded weekend mornings. Bring back the Chicken Tiga!!! Note: It's first come, first serve seating and you are supposed to wait in line and order before being seated. However entitled guests sometimes circumvent the line and save tables for the rest of their party waiting at the back of the line, whom have yet to order. This often throws off the flow of available tables, because the people whom waited in line and just ordered, now do not have a table. It can get busy here on weekends, but if you go, don't be one of these people, please wait in line like everyone else. The line moves quickly and the staff turns over the tables quickly as well. The couple of times this has happened to us, the staff promptly sat us at the bar and gave us a discount on our breakfast.”

“Nothing but amazing things to say about Outback in Eastgate. Food is amazing, staff is personable and attentive, atmosphere is great. First time we went, they made a mistake and wrote our name down for a party of 6, when we are only a party of 2. Which made our wait a little longer than expected. Once they figured out the error, they sat us immediately and (to our surprise), comped our entire bill! (Appetizer, two entrees, and a desert). We were so amazed at the great service, we have been back several times and the service is unmatched time after time. We always recommend Outback Eastgate!”

Tēla Bar + Kitchen 1212 Springfield Pike, Cincinnati Gastropubs • $$

“Lively corner gastropub with food so good and a crew so welcoming you'll think you've gone back to the farmhouse (but don't worry, no cluster flies here). Diverse menu, something light so you can bounce around the room, or if you prefer there are some heavy things (these ones you can see). If seafood is your thing, Shrimp and Grits or River's Rising are delish. If you're not into Phish, half the jokes might go right over your head, but try the Blackhole Sun burger. Goes great with any of the handful of craft beers on tap, and together they will certainly wash away the rain!”

“Capital Grille never disappoints. Always consistently good food and service. This occasion was no different, celebrating a birthday. Christopher, our server, was super-friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was very good: oysters, New England clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, filet mignon, sliced filet with mushrooms and wine sauce, mashed potatoes (although a little too “liquidy”), and a courtesy dessert of crème brûlée and flourless chocolate cake (thick like fudge - yum!). It made for a fantastic night out and a great meal. Always a momentous dinner out at Capital Grille.”

“Went here for a date night and left so full and happy!! Our server, Jenny, took such good care of us. It was nice to have the menu and specials explained to us in details and got a lot of recommendations from her, too. We ordered the crab cakes, mussels, lamb rack, their steak and crab special for the night. Everything was cooked to perfection with right seasonings and temp. We really enjoyed the special-the filet mignon was soooo tender and the crab was sweet! It was cool to have a candle lit butter and Cajun spiced lemon on the side for the crab. We were so stuffed at the end but couldn’t help but get dessert to go. The crème brûlée NY cheesecake is SUCH a treat and I’m so glad we got it. Service was 10/10, would recommend everyone to go here for nicer dinners.”

“Emillie was a great server! Let's start with the great things. We did apps and sides. Dumplings were so good but broth was phenomenal !!! Burrata and tomato jam was basically an amazing caprese, sooo good. We also had truffle mushrooms which we added to dumpling broth, YUM! and also had the perfect broccoli with just an ok aioli. Was unimpressed with crab avocado toast, not worth the expense. Have had a a lot of crab food options s and this underwhelmed. My husband is a brownie sundae officianato and he seriously loved the s'more brownie dessert. Overall, great food and sat outside away from a noisy interior on a Friday night.”

“Crown Cantina provided a exceptional dining experience last night. The kitchen is 100% gluten-free, offering a unique and refreshing change of pace. We started with the tostadas and salsa, which were delicious and had a nice kick. We also enjoyed the Hamachi, the Tijuanero (steak taco), and the large plate chicken enchiladas verde, all of which were made to order and full of flavor. The margaritas were also a highlight, with the ghost and guava margarita being a standout. All of their margaritas are crafted in-house, making them a healthier option. “The food was good, but considering the price, it lacked a wow factor. I didn’t like the potato mille-feuille. However, the cocktails were great.

We were a party of four, and the tables felt a bit small. There wasn’t enough space for the food, and the server had to remove even the candle to make some room. Also, there wasn’t enough legroom; our legs kept bumping into each other, making the space feel congested.”
