“I don't usually write reviews, and I'm sure of all reviews mine doesn't make too much difference - but I could not let this one go without saying how truly amazing this was. My server Sarah (apologies if not spelled correctly) was absolutely amazing - gave me a free lil palette cleanser of the passion fruit sorbet (freaking amazing). You go in expecting to pay a good bill, but honestly it was SUPER reasonable for the amount of food I got, the service, food quality, and the environment.I felt super comfortable eating alone here, too, so bonus points for that. Also - the food is incredible. My taste buds were so jazzed about it. If I could recreate the sauce that came with the veal short rib, I'd put it on everything haha.Anyway, kudos to the chef, and kudos to my amazing waitress Sarah. Would come back to Cincinatti for this restaurant ❤️”

“While on spring break from Raleigh, North Carolina, my son and I made it a priority to visit Nolia Kitchen after hearing about it and Chef Jeff Harris' James Beard Semi Finalist. Located in the vibrant Over the Rhine neighborhood, known for its local restaurants and shopping, we planned our early dinner around this exciting hotspot. As we arrived at Nolia around 5pm, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The host was both kind and efficient, while our server impressed us with their sweet demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu. Though we had already perused the menu, our server still took the time to share some additional offerings. With our choices in mind, we placed our orders, which included the following:- Gulf Oysters (6) from both the East and West Coast- Cauliflower- River CatfishTo complement our meal, I indulged in the delightful Goretti Park cocktail. Each dish was served with care and precision. My son particularly enjoyed the East Coast Oysters, while the cauliflower, accompanied by raisins and honey (we asked for it on the side), left a remarkable impression. Personally, my favorite was the catfish, paired with crawfish and grits. The combination of flavors was truly exceptional.During our visit, we were fortunate enough to meet Chef Jeff himself. He graciously shared his vision for the restaurant, adding to the overall amazing experience.Thank you, Chef Jeff Harris and team, for providing us with a memorable dining experience at Nolia Kitchen, worthy of your James Beard recognition.”

“We were here for a mid afternoon meal to celebrate a birthday. The Service was stellar, food was delicious and each person in our party of 5 loved their meal as well as the craft cocktails some of us enjoyed. It was my first experience having an apparel spritz and it was quite enjoyable. The price point per person with beer and cocktails was about $45 per person. I wasn’t sure how formal the attire would be and wore a casual dress with sandals. That was almost dressed up compared to most for the time of day, lots of shorts and jeans, if this helps anyone decide on what to wear. I highly recommend this establishment and will be going back.Dietary restrictions: The server made a point to ask if any of us had any dietary restrictions.”

The food overall was very good, although not perfect. The Amish chicken was a little too salty and the tartare was good but uninspired. The scallop was by far the best dish, I would come back again just for that!!Dessert was delicious, well balanced, with excellent pairings.Overall, would very much recommend.”

We started with the Mezze board, whipped ricotta with seasonal fruit (apricots today), and deviled eggs with pickled chorizo. The pita was so warm and we each enjoyed trying the different savory, herbal, and sweet components to our starters. I really appreciated the atmosphere because it allowed our family to talk and catch up. We also ordered and shared two portions each of the Arancini, chicken kebab, and Oishi shrimp. “We haven't had such a fantastic experience in a restaurant in so long, I forgot what it feels like. We were promptly seated by the hostess, and she was friendly. Our waitress was great and was very polite and attentive. I'll never get tired of having a refill for my drink set down in front of me before I have to ask. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, and we enjoyed the decor. I was glad we were almost finished when they sat a couple at the table next to ours, because it is a little close and you're right in each other's conversation. I got the salmon bruschetta to start, and it was so good. Everything tasted so fresh, and the flavors blend beautifully. My girlfriend got the French onion soup, and that looked amazing. She said it tasted really good. We both ordered the filet mignon, and she wanted hers medium rare, and I wanted mine cooked medium. While both steaks were excellent, neither one was cooked as requested, and both were pretty rare. I'm going to let that slide, since everything else was so good. The smoked Gouda Mac and cheese is so damn good, I want the recipe. It's very creamy and delicious. The Brussels sprouts with bacon were excellent and I could eat a bowl of just that. We will definitely be back, and totally understand all the accolades now. Two thumbs up.”

Enchiladas are saucy and delicious, and then we had Carne Asada which everyone loved as well.. I advise saving room for dessert because the night we were there they had flan - which I really enjoyed because it’s more cheesy than eggy (that might not be 100% accurate, but I really like the texture). We picked out a few bottles ahead of time (with Tim’s help) and then Tim walked through each bottle with us, asking us what we tasted, telling us about the region, etc. The food was also amazing, we ordered a few charcuterie boards, dips, and flatbreads. Overall the food, drinks, company and ambiance were fantastic. We will definitely be back!!!”

“Let me being by saying that this was the second time in my life that my wife and I have had a meal so good that we bought drinks for the entire restaurant staff. We went last night and this meal was the best we've ever had in Cincinnati. We began with the oysters and the bone marrow. If you've never had bone marrow like we hadn't, get it. I'm telling you that it's sublime. That was followed with the seasonal spring salad. I know this is a steakhouse and they do their steak as well as anyone, but I've never had a salad that good. It was the single best bite of the meal! After the salads, they brought out our 4oz petit filets, fingerling potatoes, and sauteed mushrooms and onions. We prefer to have small steaks and let it be an element of the meal rather than the meal itself and I'm so glad we did! The entire meal was delicious and I'd hate to have ordered a larger steak and missed out on the opportunity to try some of their other menu items. Finally, we wrapped up the meal with a creme brulee for each of us (they had two types so we got one of each and shared). Creme brulee is my favorite dessert and The Lonely Pine didn't disappoint!I can't wait to go back. I've been talking to folks at work about it all morning and several of them are excited to try the place as well.GO. Enjoy your night out. You won't be disappointed in taking my recommendation.Parking: We had no trouble finding street parking within 30 feet of the restaurant. They also have a free parking lot directly across the street.”

“Where to start on this unassuming restaurant. It has been on our list to try for a good while since it is near where we live and I'm so thrilled that we finally made it. I wasn't expecting the local art which is awesome and the mural on the fence in back which tells the story of the restaurant and created by Michael C. (bartender). The smells that came from the kitchen were deliciously enticing and looking over the menu I knew a couple things we wanted to try. So what did we have? First off the Pretzel Nugs with house-made beer cheese and roasted garlic caramel. I loved the roasted garlic caramel so much I asked for a jar to take home, it is that good! Trust me :) They had blackened mahi mahi tacos, house-made pico and they were delectable and juicy.Michael was gracious to explain the concoctions. To drink I had the Blue Mountain Hop which has duck fat infused Bulleit bourbon, pecan liqueur, sweet vermouth and orange and he had The Nightosphere which is blackberry infused El Jimador blanco, house-made cranberry & basil liqueur, sour, and grenadine in a Himalayan pink salt rimmed glass. Very tasty and clever drinks!I had the Cemita which is a lightly breaded buttermilk fried chicken cutlet with oaxaca cheese, red onion and cilantro and he had the short rib mac and cheese which has smoked Gouda and cheddar with Mr. Pibb braised beef short rib with fried shallots.Shout out to Arlena our lovely and friendly server, Michael C the artist and bartender and Mike W who we indulged us with more information about the food and restaurant. We will definitely be back and if you haven't been you need to check it out! Many thanks!!”

“Fantastic Italian restaurant! It was interesting that they make most of their pasta noodles themselves. We started with the arancini di riso appetizer which was absolutely delicious. One family member had tagliatelle bolognese and he devoured it in no time and almost licked the bowl. Another member had the gluten free tagliatelle bolognese and she said it was great. Gnocchi was the choice of another member and she really loved it. I had bucatini amatriciana which was unbelievably good. Then for dessert we shared the tiramisu and vanilla crème brûlée. Oh my, they were fantastic! Our favorite was the tiramisu, but both were excellent. I had a contratto sour to drink which was very good. I have never had one before so I can’t say how authentic it was, but I enjoyed it. The host was very friendly and took us to our table right away. The server was amazing. She knew the products very well and was able to tell us what each product was. She also never let our water glasses run dry! Even though she had a handful of tables, it felt as though we were her only customer. The manager talked to us several times as well as every other table in the restaurant. We didn’t have any problems but I’m sure she would have taken of them. Everyone in the restaraunt was very friendly and very welcoming. I highly recommend this place!Dietary restrictions: They offer gluten free pasta and was very good.”

“The point in me posting is call first if you are coming for gluten free bakery items. I'm not going to destroy their stars because I didn't stay and eat, but I can't speak for the food. I'm sure everything is delicious, the cafe is seriously cute. Everything smelled good. I swung by (around 1 pm) to buy gluten free bakery items. I've been trying to make it here for months, since I heard about it and the OTR store is closed right now. I live in Kentucky and was visiting a relative in Fairfield, so this store was kind of on the way in an out of the way way. They were completely sold out of all gluten free bakery items and I can't partake in the others. Early bird gets the bakery items. If I was eating in, there were items I could have eaten on the menu. The human speaking to me was super kind and apologetic. I didn't have time to stay and eat pancakes, etc... so my bad.Dietary restrictions: Gluten sensitive”

By 1:30pm they had already ran out of pho so you can imagine how many people enjoy their food. The pho was good overall but the broth was on the sweeter end for my liking. They offer 3 of the fried spring rolls versus the traditional 2 which is a plus but the sauce for spring rolls is a sweet sauce instead of the traditional fish sauce which is a nice twist. There's a few tables and seating inside but it fills up fast with the lunch rush. The prices were reasonable and you get a good amount of food for the price.”
