“While visiting thee high school that my wife's father attended, we stopped for lunch at Gilligan's on the Green, a restaurant and brewery. I was told by our waiter that Gilligan's was once the old fire station of Wyoming, a suburb of Cincinnati. We chose to sit outside on the deck. Inside the resturant, our waiter said, there were rooms that acould accommodate small groups up to 60 for a special event or party. It was a Friday and from some past remembrance of my youth of having fish on Fridays, I chose the fish and chips. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich. I didn't get a few "fingers" of fish ... I got a hunk of fish, expertly fried with a nongreasy tempura like crust. There is a great list of pub style favorites on the menu, and a full bar. While not entirely an Irish pub it can't be ruled out:) Gilligan's has great service, ample parking and is wheelchair accessible.

Parking: Plenty of available parking. This was lunch time.

Kid-friendliness: Outdoor seating. Family atmosphere.

Wheelchair accessibility: Wheel chair accessible.“

Rhinegeist Brewery Brewery • $$

“I am visiting Cincinnati for a concert and decided to stop by Rhinegeist to have some drinks before the show. The environment is spacious with plenty of seating, the brewing vats are in the seating area so you can watch the employees work their magic, and there was even cornhole boards and bags for guests to play. Carey, who was serving at the bar, was incredibly friendly and professional. The atmosphere is great and the beers are delicious. I had told myself I would have a 2-drink maximum, but the selection of beers has convinced me to have at least one more! Thanks, Rhinegeist Brewery!“

Fretboard Brewing Company - Blue Ash Brewery • $$
5800 Creek Rd, Cincinnati

“Always fantastic. Go for the fries, stay for the blue cheese. Oh yeah, they have meats too. I usually get the spicy garlic on the wings, but they were kind enough to give me a cup on the side of the Chernobyl to try. It is very hot, but I would not say super hot. If you regularly eat habanero sauces and want more then this is probably a good heat level for you. It also has a good flavor, it’s not just hot for sake of being hot. Everyone there is super friendly also. Great atmosphere. Cool aesthetic. There is often live music on the weekends, which can be a bit loud and it definitely gets busy. Not a negative, just something to be aware of. Come during off hours if you don’t want that. I wish I could just buy a jug of the blue cheese. Maybe I can, but I haven’t asked.“

Esoteric Brewing Co. Brewery •
918 E McMillan St, Cincinnati

“I can't say enough good things about the creative and excellent beers at Esoteric. As a long time brewer and international beer hunter, you want to come across a place like this in your own town. The vibe is excellent inside and out, great beer guides (bartenders) comfortable indoor and outdoor seating, lively and diverse crowd. All of their beers are well crafted with an excellent variety. Still not tired of IPAs? Their Lotus is among the best Ive ever had. Food is a Korean flavored place next door focusing on mostly really good wings and a decent variety of banchan that compliments the mains and beer.“

Taft's brewporium on Spring Grove Drive.

LG tomato pie with mozzarella add pep and sausage.

Fantastic crunch, perfect char, leoparding on the undrrcarriage to die for, zesty sauce with great depth of flavor, excellent low moisture mozzarella, good crumbled sausage, slightly spicy and flavorful pepperoni.

Add in an order of delicious garlic knots and a local stout and I'm fat-n-happy.

I give it a 9.1“

“Everything looks great but the best part of barbeque is the sauce. Which was told to me was "in the bag" not sure which bag because it was not in my bag. Almost $40 of barbecue that I now have to go to the store to buy sauce for as it is to far to go back to there for it. The brisket was good but I bet that spicy apple sauce would have made it great!!!“

“Pretty solid place to drink and eat, with perhaps a few kinks to work out. A minor situation beyond the establishment's control broke out while I was there, and staff handled it very well. My biggest complaints were that the hard seltzers were flat and the kitchen seemed to be out of a lot of things. Still, I would go back, and when I do I'll adjust my rating accordingly.“

“Great selection of beer and wine. You can even get mixed cocktails at the bar. On the other hand the food was not so good. I got the turkey sliders that were so little turkey on them and they just didn't taste good and they came with a handful of chips very disappointing. We also got the buffalo chicken nachos and they were also very disappointed very little chicken on them. Saw some people eating pizzas they look pretty good I would go that route.“

Nick made great drink suggestions, and even made time to bring our dog water and treats. Nick also found the basketball game we wanted to watch, and ensured it was on thr TV closest to us. The drinks are great, with reasonable prices. The vibe is cool and the service was amazing. Thank you Nick for making our night out with the dog, a big success. We appreciate you!“

“Parking: I had to circle around the block numerous times to find a spot. School was nearby and also getting out around the same time so that added to the difficulty in finding parking. Street parking near the establishment is limited. If there is a lot to park in, it is not very clearly identified. I ended up parking catty-corner in a lot behind some other store fronts. It was not marked for Nine Giant but I didn't get towed.“
