We have been to Hofbräuhaus in Munich, Pittsburgh and Columbus as well as here in Newport. We have always had a great time and enjoyed our meals. The various schnitzel choices are all good. Don't miss the kraut and the Kartoffelpuffer.
Stopped in for lunch on Sunday, food was great! Beer was ice cold!

Friendly staff and great food! The beer cheese fries were so filling that I almost didn't finish my entree. The Hofbrauhaus Hot Brown was SO good. Parking was $5, but at least it was an actual parking lot & not meter parking.

Fun atmosphere with live music, great beer, and tasty food. Had the dunkel and red lager, would recommend both! The spatzle, schnitzel, wurst, and Reuben balls were also yummy. Snagged a magnet at the gift shop on the way out too.
Highly recommend this post! Not sure I would call it a chain - only 3 locations in the US with this one being in Newport KY. I’ve been to one other in Pittsburgh. Well known for their live music and liter pours of draft beer. Their German food is delicious and they have delicious pretzels as appetizers with their beer cheese. A great atmosphere to bring your visitors. A great spot to get your beer fix. $14 liters, $7 half liters of draft beer. Meals ranged from $19-22

food was great.. hearty portions. took two friends of my daughter who had never had German food. they loved it. had one of each desert and shared. they were delicious. had the Weiss beer it was great. great time, great food, great band and most of all a great experience.
The food here is at best cafeteria food. We've tried it a couple of times, but come away feeling the same. Got the Lent fried fish special & the fish was def frozen, looked dried up on one end, with little flavor. 4 Soft Pretzel App was underwhelming considering this is a German brauhaus. We've had other German dishes here on previous visits & always are disappointed. Such a great location, atmosphere, music is awesome, but the food is just awful - so sad!
