One team member says "Pepper Pod is truly a hidden gem in Newport, KY! Stepping inside feels like a journey back in time - they have original jukeboxes still in place at every booth! Excellent service + plenty of delicious diner-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner options! Their French toast is my favorite and you have to try the local goetta!"

Came up there to pick up my order and was told to wait in the back by the counter , waited over 20 minutes and never received my order . Didn’t even update me on when my food was ready , felt like I was forgotten about

Awesome place! I loved the smoking section. Had a dude rip a mean one and blew the smoke at my table. I was coughing for the duration of my meal, so cool! Highly recommend taking the young and elderly, especially if they have underdeveloped lungs or asthma.

10/10 will take my newborn next time

Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu with lots of great food. It's all garnished with ash so you can taste the cigarette smoke alongside smelling it.

What can I say, when you first walk in, you're hit with old, stale cigarette smoke smell. There was one waitress among the entire diner so the waitress was a little cold if that makes sense I'm not blaming the waitress for that. The food was mid at best they gave you what the menu said and nothing more. I had to add mayo to a grilled chicken sandwich I feel like that should be on it to begin with. All that being said, we won't be visiting anymore. 3/10 mainly because of the atmosphere

They let people smoke in here ?

This establishment refuses service to people of color. When I spoke to the manager named Chris about an experience there today, he laughed loudly and hung up the phone. I would highly recommend finding anywhere else to eat.

Food was not good at all. We went here based on other reviews. We were fooled. The pancakes tasted like chemicals and the biscuits are microwaved. Skip this one and go to ihop.

Service was terrific. Kitchen was having a bad day. Sandwiches did not come out as ordered. Please stop using the styrofoam cups!
Not the quaint diner we expected.

We came in at 745pm to eat like I would've three years ago when I left. Only soon after sitting, we discovered they were closing at 8pm now regularly!? Anyway, they insisted we sit, order and eat without rush. That was pure kindness, not knowing how much I've loved their food and the memories their restaurant holds in my head. I did ask to purchase a juke box, but got turned down (i expected that)

I love to support Pops & Mom restaurants. The food was ok here not great but good for the price. However They need to update their menus because if your menu says "Served with chips" then you can't tell someone after they get their food " (Oh that's only for Dine-in). You have to say on your menu that chips are served with dine-in only. Now she did give me 1 order of chips but I had 2 orders & both came with chips. The correct thing to do would've been to let me know right at the point of order that chips only come with dine-in orders. Then I could've made the choice if I still wanted to order or get something else.

It's an old Mom and Pop dinner with the feel of one. Building and set up orginal, not a fake 50s dinner. A dinner that was probably there in the 50s. Food is good quality at a more than reasonable price. It may need slightly better upkeep but that might take away its charm.

? establishment.

This place felt as if I stepped back in time into a sitcom. The local regulars were in booths. A little red-headed waitress running all over the place being supported by a long-haired marine vet.

Service was great considering it was just those two work in the whole thing. Food with excellent and fast. This place is kind of special I felt very much at home. Glad these places still exist.

Dietary restrictions: No sugar substitute.
