Three strikes and you’re out!!😡. The sushi has always been great over the years until the last six months when the quality has failed. Tendons in the sashimi are not acceptable! I notified them three times now and nobody seems to care! I’m done. Danville restaurant

I’ve eaten at Asuka many times over the years, and it’s always been one of my favorite Japanese steakhouses. One of the main reasons we’ve continued coming back is because they’ve always been able to accommodate my shellfish allergy without any issues. Unfortunately, this visit completely changed my opinion. Before ordering, I clearly informed our server about my shellfish allergy, and she even wrote it down on the order sheet. Despite that, when the chef came to the table, my steak was sitting on the same plate as the shrimp, and he placed everything on the grill together. When I politely reminded him about my allergy, instead of taking it seriously, he became visibly irritated and acted as though I was inconveniencing him.
He tried to “fix” the situation by simply sliding my steak and chicken away from the shrimp after they had already been touching on the plate and were now cooking inches apart on the same grill. That’s not how cross-contamination works, especially for someone with a food allergy. When I pointed that out, he became argumentative and sarcastically asked, “What do you want, new meat?” At that point I told him not to worry about it because I simply wouldn’t eat. Rather than apologizing, he continued with the attitude. When fresh meat was finally brought out, he rudely asked if it was “okay” to just put it in the corner of the same contaminated grill. I told him I would only be comfortable if it was cooked on a properly cleaned grill.
Instead of making any real effort to ensure my meal was safe, he waited until everyone else’s food was finished, gave the grill a quick scrape instead of thoroughly cleaning it, threw my food on the grill with obvious frustration, rushed the process by essentially steaming my chicken so he could finish faster, and then slammed the food onto my plate. I never felt like my safety mattered. only that I was an inconvenience. Food allergies are not preferences; they can be life-threatening, and they should be treated with professionalism and respect. The way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable from start to finish. After years of being a loyal customer, I can confidently say I will not be returning.

Excellent service, performance and food.
This has been my favorite restaurant in central Kentucky for at least 15 years. I have been eating here since way back when they were across the street next to Goodwill. I have eaten here minimum 1000 times (I went for lunch every day for months), and even still it's my top choice for eating out. I've never once had a bad experience. That being said, ask for Rudi if you want the best. He's great and his fried rice is perfect every time.

A really good place to go, the food was great, I highly recommend the Sushi. When it comes to the grill, had it not been for sauce some of the food was over cooked but I honestly somewhat expected it. I asked for my Filet to be rare to avoid it... didn't work... don't want to know how those who ordered medium or higher came out. Also Scallops should be a hard search the flip for a min or you kill it. These were cooked way to long but drenched in sauce to cover it... my other complaints would be the seating and inability to get things going in advance.
Seating, whoever designed this had to be 6'5 or 7' I'm 5'10 and felt like a kid again eating at the adult table. I was close but not quite able to sit comfortably yet.
Lastly we had a large party and wanted to do two Sushi and Sashimi combos to share around the table as appetizers. Yeah no, couldn't order in advance for arrival time... wait you the host get there a few minutes early to get it going... no... everyone in your party must be there and seated to order anything... I sorta get it but super annoying.
However with these complaints you're probably like but why the good rating.
1. The Sushi was top tier. That was fantastic.
2. Server we got took care of us and I can't fault him for following policy.
3. Even though the food was overcooked the chef put on a good show and our party had fun.
Dining here is a real experience. The chefs put on a show while they cook your food. Very enjoyable.
