Was visiting Carter Caves State Park nearby, and stopped by Comet's for lunch. We got the Appalachian Dogs and Cheeseburger Sliders. In a word, delicious. The hotdogs they used tasted great and had "snap" (so NOT the soggy, water-cooked kind that some reviewers prefer), and buns were fresh and butter toasted. We stopped here for lunch on a road trip. It’s all outdoor seating but there was plenty of shade. Food was great and inexpensive. I got the chili dog, fries and tater tots and they were all delicious. I was so glad we ate here instead of just getting chain fast food. The service was great and everyone working there was super nice.

Grabbed some food here after doing the Cascade Cave tour nearby. Our group ordered the BLT dog, the tater tot dog, walking taco, spicy cheese curds, and a chocolate milkshake…everything was made to order and tasted great!
