Colby's Deli & Cafe

This place is very clean. Staff is extremely friendly. I had the sausage egg and cheese biscuit. Big biscuit lots of egg on it, but the biscuit was really doughy and the sausage was like a big version of a McDonald’s sausage patty with less flavor. It will definitely fill you up. They need to find another sausage patty to offer and you need to cook the biscuits just a little bit longer. Maybe some salt and pepper on the egg.huge amount of potential. Definitely had worse. like the Circle K sausage, egg, and cheese.

We came to Owensboro to try the BBQ mutton. Went to Colby's Deli & Cafe for a quick breakfast one morning. The breakfast sandwich was great and as first time visitors, we received a free cookie of our choice. The best part of the experience was talking with one of the staff members. He could not have been nicer. Said he was born and raised in Owensboro and gave us several recommendations of things to try. Loved it!

Great little place in a fabulous Kentucky river town. Picture is 1/2 of the chicken, bacon and ranch wrap with homemade chips my wife and I spit. The wrap was generous and exceptional. The service was Kentucky friendly and the place was cozy and welcoming. This was our first visit so we both got our pick of homemade cookies, also great.

Been coming here 20+ years..super clean..very friendly owner and staff..great sandwiches, Wednesday meatloaf special is my fave and a great deal!

Wonderful cafe in Owensboro. Food was great and service was even better. Great place to grab breakfast and work for a bit while traveling.

Today we made the short trek from Newburgh to Owensboro to hang out, shop, etc. We had lunch at Colby's Deli and Cafe. First thing to know (which we didn’t) is that there’s lots of parking in the back which makes it much easier to access the restaurant.
You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. The ladies working the front counter were so nice and helpful. We ordered a corned beef and Swiss on rye and a gyro. The woman taking our order recommended their house made chips - she described them as “lays on steroids”. If you tell them it’s your first time there, they give you a free cookie!
The sandwiches were both very good. The gyro was stuffed full - almost too full to pick up and eat like a sandwich. The corned beef was good too. The chips came out warm and were indeed very good! And of course, the cookie was delicious.
The seating area inside is very spacious. They also have outdoor seating if you’re so inclined. Everyone working there was incredibly friendly! We definitely want to go back and try more of their menu items. Rumor has it that starting soon they will have meatloaf every Weds and apparently it’s the best meatloaf ever made. We may have to verify that at some point ?.

My go-to lunch spot. I recommend this place. I've had the chili and the BLT. I do wish the menu was in LARGE PRINT.
