Colby's Deli & Cafe

Today we made the short trek from Newburgh to Owensboro to hang out, shop, etc. We had lunch at Colby's Deli and Cafe. First thing to know (which we didn’t) is that there’s lots of parking in the back which makes it much easier to access the restaurant.
You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. The ladies working the front counter were so nice and helpful. We ordered a corned beef and Swiss on rye and a gyro. The woman taking our order recommended their house made chips - she described them as “lays on steroids”. If you tell them it’s your first time there, they give you a free cookie!
The sandwiches were both very good. The gyro was stuffed full - almost too full to pick up and eat like a sandwich. The corned beef was good too. The chips came out warm and were indeed very good! And of course, the cookie was delicious.
The seating area inside is very spacious. They also have outdoor seating if you’re so inclined. Everyone working there was incredibly friendly! We definitely want to go back and try more of their menu items. Rumor has it that starting soon they will have meatloaf every Weds and apparently it’s the best meatloaf ever made. We may have to verify that at some point ?.

My go-to lunch spot. I recommend this place. I've had the chili and the BLT. I do wish the menu was in LARGE PRINT.

I had the chicken salad sandwich and a cup of fresh fruit. It was so good. And the music they play is great. It's a nice and relaxing place to sit and enjoy lunch.

Colby’s Deli & Cafe is a hidden gem. Went there for the first time today & it will be a regular stop on my rotation. Delicious, fresh friendly & so helpful. There’s parking in the back so you don’t have to fight Frederica Street traffic. Thank you for being awesome.

Colby's has a small breakfast menu, but each item was delicious! We tried the quiche, biscuits and gravy, and cinnamon roll. It was all yummy and the staff was sweet. Best of all, it was all very reasonably priced!

They were so rude the food was alright but the servers there make you not want to even go back!!!

My husband and I ate at colbys 9n Fri 10/28. It was delicious. I had porkchops my husband had prime rib. Food was very good. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely return
