Gene's Health Food is a welcoming spot for a nutritious meal and a great health store in town. Their menu features a range of delicious options, including the popular pig & fig sandwich, gene's garden salad, and the best tacos in town. Other favorites include the brisket grilled cheese, smoked salmon tacos, Turkey bacon club, and the delicious Thai basil chicken salad sandwich. They also offer a variety of gluten-free and meat-eater options, as well as organic groceries, personal products, household goods, and a selection of smoothies. The cafe is excellent, with really great food that disappears very fast. Gene’s is accommodating of many dietary restrictions—just ask them what they can do and they likely have an option for you. The staff are friendly and helpful with recommendations. It’s convenient to refill water here, much better than buying from grocery stores. Easily the best restaurant in Owensboro KY!
