I ordered through door dash and they had Happys listed as open. I was informed by my driver that Happys is actually only open twice a week but he just so happened to be there cooking for some relatives and went ahead and cooked my order fresh for me! 🥹 Very thoughtful and kind and I will order from here 100 more times! I couldn't leave this review last night due to a burger-coma.
A local spot with history. Three generations of it. The current generation has traveled an interesting road and has some additional restaurant cred outside of just this spot. I won't go into it - find out for yourself if you care to drop in. On to the important stuff.
Despite being a God-fearing man, he's cooking up some evil things on the flat-top. The Happy Burger, I use that term burger loosely, was less burger and more a tender, hamburger/Salisbury steak on a bun that wasn't really made to accommodate it. The only thing that I might have added had I had any was a splash of A1.
I had to go in from the sides with a fork first. The mac-n-cheese choice side, I think baked, was simple, basic, and good flavor.

I’m not sure how much the atmosphere matters when the food and service are this good?! Absolutely delicious food! The husband and I ordered brisket, potato salad and greens. Mr. Eugene even gave us Italian cream cake on the house. Good food and a generous owner!! Will definitely be back!!

This was amazing. Looked up places close to my air bnb and they did not disappoint. The Jr Bacon Burger was huge. Fresh beef and thick cut bacon. Highly recommend. Service was friendly and fast considering everything was made to order. Was totally grooving to the retro soul/funk videos on the TV. Got rib tips to go and they melt in your mouth tender.

So I ordered a pork chop sandwich,collard greens , chili cheese fries and Mac and cheese let me start with I ordered from door dash now let’s get to the food it was sub par at best the collard green were ice cold like they took them out of the refrigerator and threw them in a bowl the rest of the food was warm to be expected when ordering delivery the pork chop sandwich I ordered never showed up they sent me crock pot pulled pork instead without telling me the Mac and cheese noodles were over cooked and bland the chili cheese fries stated on the menu the fries were spicy and covered ind chili and cheese that was not the case the fries had absolutely zero seasoning and the chili was sub par at best I would not recommend this place it’s garbage

The food here is fantastic! My wife and I were so happy to see a new Soul/Southern Cooking place open up in town, we ordered a sizable cross section from the menu.
Everything, the brisket, burger, fish, greens, potato salad etc. was seasoned just right and packed with flavor. The portions could feed an army, and pricing is very reasonable. We hurt ourselves because we couldn't stop shoveling it in.
We can't recommend this place enough. Seriously, give it a try.
