Pig in a Poke PRESTONSBURG Reviews
Great place for BBQ! Clean, fast and friendly. Highly recommend to everyone that’s looking for great BBQ. We will be back when we visit again.
The butterfly shrimp appetizer was lovely, very nice presentation.
Very disappointed in the quality of the food. The chopped brisket tasted like it was in a crock pot for 2 days, tough as jerky. The pulled pork was nearly undercooked, almost no seasoning.
Staff was lovely, sweet tea was very good. White cheddar mac n cheese was amazing!

Pig in a Poke PRESTONSBURG is a cozy eatery with plenty of home-style charm. The seating is limited, especially upstairs at the bar, which has a somewhat dark, almost romantic ambiance. Larger parties may want to call ahead before visiting. The service can be a bit inconsistent, with some issues like missing items or delays, but staff members are friendly and attentive. Customers often praise the delicious food, particularly the pulled chicken and pulled pork, both of which have the right amount of smoke and are very tender. The ribs are also a highlight, as they are meaty and easy to eat with a fork—one customer mentioned that their ribs were so tender they didn't need to pick them up. Fries are much better than standard frozen ones—greasy but tasty and worth trying, especially with the different sauces available at the table. The pulled pork is considered the best among the meats, flavorful and very good. The overall dining experience feels like eating with family, and customers appreciate the local focus of the restaurant. While some find the staircase leading upstairs difficult to navigate, the decor remains inviting. Food portions are generous, and prices remain manageable given the quality. The restaurant's atmosphere is generally tolerable in noise levels, and the bathrooms are well-maintained. Overall, many customers plan to return, especially those who enjoy BBQ in Prestonsburg.
