I had been here before and was pleased. But this time it appears some things change on the menu. What is pictured here was what I got the 1st time I went.

The new BJ's salad had less ingredients and they put sweet potatoe puree pieces in it! I was so upset and disappointed.

Between watching the owner argue with a customer, being served shrimp and grits with the whole shell of the shrimp still on, and every time walking out smelling like cooking grease, I'm good on Blondie & Jim's. I watched a customer tell the owner she was not pleased with a dish she got, and the owner came out and was very passive-aggressive and told her basically that's just how the food is, and you'll still have to pay full price. Even though she had only taken one bite of her food, and even when the party left, the full plate was still on the table. Which, as you can imagine, left a heavy tone in the dining area. I was surprised to see the shell still on the shrimp when I was served my shrimp and grits, as I have gotten this dish at 15+ restaurants in 3 different states and have never been served shrimp with the shell still on. I had to fight with my food with a fork and knife to get the shell off. It was either that or dig my fingers into the grits to remove the shell by hand. (I'm sure I will hear something about that's just how the dish is served here) I have given this place 4 chances due to seeing some real potential in this place, but the one thing I can't get over is smelling like cooking grease every single time I leave this place. (and no, I have never been to a restaurant, no matter how big or small, and walked out smelling like cooking grease.) It's on my clothes and my hair, and I smell it the rest of the day. The service is lackluster, as well as every single time I've gone, they have forgotten something, and I have had to wait upward of 10 minutes for some hot sauce.

I was greeted by several servers on the patio before I even walked through the firnt door where I was immediately greeted. I sat at the bar and ordered Jim's Home (their biscuits and gravy dish) with two scrambled eggs and some coffee. Seems I stopped by on their 3 year anniversary so got a ticket for a raffle. Ms. Blondie (I am assuming) stopped by to chat with me and tell me about their menu and how they made everything from scratch. She was super sweet and friendly. Eventually I got this massive plate of biscuits and gravy with an absolutely incredible spicy sausage gravy. It was seasoned to absolute perfection and I wish I could have finished my plate. Multiple staff stopped by to check on me and I even got a dample of their delicious pasta salad. Would absolutely return to try more of their food.

Had an awesome lunch here last week! The house pimiento cheese appetizer (PBJ) was outstanding, and everyone loved their meals. I had the million dollar bacon sandwich and it was amazing. Our group also had the Dirty Bird sandwich, the Crab Cakes platter and the Gumbo. Everyone loved all of their dishes. The chefs came out to personally deliver the dishes, and came out to celebrate a birthday for the table behind us. Really awesome playlist too and nice decor. Will definitely come back and try more of their food! Whole menu sounded really good and it was hard to decide what to order. :)

What a cute lil gem! Owner was just a peach and the food was a real treat! When we were taken way off the beaten path KY, we we're a little unsure about it 😆. Totally worth every delicious bite. Scenic beautiful drive!

My first time there. It was fabulous. I even ordered food to go. This is my New Specialty Place.
Yes this would be really good for a Tea Party or a ladies Brunch.
Thank you

My friend & I have been so excited to try this place for months now & finally found time to go. I hate to say it was very disappointing. We tried to order the cream puffs but they were out, so we got the BJP instead. It was good but would’ve been better with more bacon. For my main I tried the Grandmothers Pot Roast and my friend got the Sluttiness with pot roast on top. My dish was good but portion size is small. Her Sluttiness was a wreck. The entire meal comes in a mason jar about the size of a jam jar. The “purĂ©ed” potatoes were regular potato chunks. We asked about them since “purĂ©e” should be more of a smooth baby food texture & the lady said the chunks were cooked correctly & “they’re soft”
. they were not. The Sluttiness also has a disclaimer on the menu that it has a longer cook time.. not sure what exactly takes so long to cook since this dish is pretty flavorless and lacks anything special. The $5 up-charge for pot roast gets you 2 bites of meat.

On top of the food being lackluster, it seems their ventilation could use some upgrades. When they started cooking the whole dining room got smoky & really agitated my allergies/eyes. We couldn’t go outside because it was too hot, so I just sat there tearing up & with a runny nose the entire meal due to the smokiness burning my eyes.

Their interior decor is adorable & it’s a shame this cutesy spot was a let down.

This restaurant knocked our socks off. The staff is kind, the venue is beautiful, and the food is beyond fresh. Southern food done right, healthy, and full of flavor! 10/10 will be coming back to my new favorite restaurant.
