To start, it took 5 minutes for anybody to welcome us or even make eye contact with us. Then 10 minutes to order. I ordered my burgers with ALL the veggies and mustard only. Forgot the jalapeños and mustard. Then made me order them. It took 15 minutes to get the jalapeños… and they brought them raw wrapped in foil…. By the time we got everything (2 trays and a burger) our food was cold. Also there was chocolate milk all over the floor from someone taking garbage out right after we arrived and they just left it on the floor the entire time we were there. About 35 minutes.

This Cook Out deserves a warning. I ordered walking tacos and very clearly asked for no sour cream because I am allergic. Not light, not on the side, none at all. When I opened the food there was a crazy amount of sour cream dumped all over it. When you ignore a clearly stated allergy, that is technically attempted murder or at the very least a complete disregard for someone’s safety.

It somehow got worse at the window. The blonde girl working the window was extremely rude. I understand trying to work fast and being busy, but there is no excuse for slamming the window shut in a customer’s face. She closed it so fast that I did not even get the chance to tell her she forgot to give me my drink. I was left sitting there confused about whether I was supposed to leave or wait.

I am curious to see what they do about this, but it will probably just be the basic we are sorry response with no real accountability. Between ignoring a food allergy, the rude attitude, and forgetting items, this was one of the worst fast food experiences I have had. I would not recommend this location to anyone.

The Cookout is a southern institution. I've been going to a number of locations for 20+ years... Basically anytime I get south of the Ohio river somewhere within 20 minutes of a location, I stop.

Great tasting, reasonable, Excellent pricing, great service across the board... Just realize, they don't specialize in health food.

I've been to this location a couple times over the last few years and never come away disappointed. Great service from their front line.

This location does have inside dining

Consumer Quality Check

I’ve been to Cook Out plenty of times, so this isn’t a one-off visit, but this stop really summed up the “hit or miss” experience. First thing that stood out was the drink. The cup was filled with an excessive amount of ice — easily 90–95% ice — to the point where you’re basically getting a few sips of actual drink. I even watched them load it up, so it definitely didn’t feel accidental. I get wanting cold drinks, but there’s a difference between ice and taking advantage of customers.

Customer service itself was actually good. The staff was polite, efficient, and the line moved at a decent pace, which I do appreciate. That said, accuracy was an issue. My hot dog came out without mustard, which I ordered, and instead had some kind of unknown white sauce on it. I’m not sure if it was mayo or something else, but it definitely wasn’t what I asked for, and that kind of mistake matters when you’re already dealing with a basic menu item.

Food quality was mixed. The walking tacos were honestly the highlight — fresh, flavorful, and put together well. If everything had been handled with that same level of care, this would be a much better experience overall. Other items were just okay, nothing terrible but nothing that really stood out either.

Overall, Cook Out is still affordable and convenient, but little things like portion shortcuts, incorrect orders, and inconsistency keep it from being better. With some attention to detail and a little less ice in the cup, this could easily be a 4-star experience. As it stands, it’s a solid 3 stars — decent, but room for improvement.

Service was wonderful. Ordered cheddar burger-sort of Ok, but the “cheddar” was more like imitation cheddar flavored sauce and the bun was mush. Hush puppies were crisp on the outside, but mushy in the middle. And there was sugar dusted on the outside. Who on earth puts sugar in their hush puppies!? Yuck. Trashed.
