Well known restaurant in Pensacola. Always has been one of our favorites. Cocktails are the usual “steakhouse size”, ie, generous. Steaks cooked precisely, attentive service without being overbearing or snooty. You get what you pay for, so don't be a “hater”. I recommend!
First, Ms. Kathy our server was phenomenal! Oyster appetizer had the smallest oysters I've ever seen. Reminded me of a cashew on crack. BBQ pork belly appetizer had more salt on it than is found in the Gulf of America. Prime Rib “special” was imported from the Golden Corral buffet. Full of “chewy fat” that was akin to a gizzard! Duck was ok, nothing special. Chocolate mousse was very good, though a child size portion. Overall a disappointing dinner. Thank goodness for Kathy our server. Sorry if this hurts, but I won't be recommending Jackson's to anyone.
We had eaten at Jackson's three years ago and it was excellent. Not so the time. The crab cakes were just okay. Nothing special, sure not worth $46. My grandson's steak was chewy. Better steaks at Longhorn Steakhouse. What was good? The service by Danny, the bread, fried green tomatoes, drinks and desserts. Very disappointing to say the least. We spent $484 to feed four adults and two children for a ho hum experience.
Third time in a year we have dined at Jackson's and never had a bad experience. The steaks, appetizers, and drinks were all phenomenal. The bartender leia was so sweet and made really good drinks. Our server Alexis was very accommodating and helpful when we ordered or needed anything even though she was really busy. We will definitely be back.
We had high expectations, but unfortunately the experience didn't match the price. My wife enjoyed her meal, and the extra sides we ordered were good. I ordered the Old Hickory—the steak and crab were good, but the macaroni was extremely overcooked. The fried green tomatoes were fine on their own, but didn't work well with the steak and crab. The smoked apple old fashioned was a letdown—no real apple flavor and no smoky character at all. We ordered three desserts. The mousse and custard were nothing special, while the key lime phyllo was the standout, though it could have used more flavor inside the phyllo. Service felt slow at times, especially when it came to getting drinks. Overall, the experience was disappointing and didn't justify the cost.
The new years menu was disappointing. I had the artichoke mushroom appetizer that was so bland. It tased like boiled mushrooms in milk that were afraid of flavor. The filet was cooked perfectly rare and very tender. The accompanying potatoes were dry and flavorless. The addition of butter and salt from the table did nothing to rescue them. None of the desserts intrigued me. No chocolate options. What a bummer. Everything was cream based. Service was phenomenal and we were pleased with our server. She was attentive and friendly. We like Jackson's but I wish they had the regular menu.
Always great! Our server Leah was wonderful she took of everything and very pleasant and attentive. Best filet we had in years
Went for the NYE dinner. They should be ashamed for charging $125 a plate for what was served. The flavor was good with the apps and entrees. Not $125 good. Dessert was meh. My biggest gripe were portion sizes. They were basically tapa plates. Boudin ball app came with two balls slightly bigger than a golf ball. Scallop and burnt end entree came with 3 scallops and 3 burnt ends. $377 for my wife and I after 3 beers, an old fashioned, and tip. I left still hungry and feeling taken advantage of. Our waitress was great.
Food was hot and served quickly, in spite of the fact it was a phased NYE event and we were early. The artichoke appetizer and filet mignon were lovely. The beet salad was disappointing.
Had a reservation and had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated The manager was very apologetic for our delay and did his to accomodate us! Overall it was a great NYE outing.

We attended the New Year's dinner experience, which started at 5 PM. I will say that I'm a long-term supporter of Jacksons and love the establishment in their food. But it seemed that the staff were a bit overwhelmed having the entire restaurant sit down and order at the same time. Our wine and first course took quite a while and at an hour and 45 minutes, we had to ask for our desserts to go since we had a show at 7 PM. The food was excellent as always, the servers attitude was wonderful, and it was wine down Wednesday so our bottle of wine was half price all in all a terrific experience, but if you're pressed for time (I recommend you'll need at least two hours to fully enjoy this three course meal ) this event may not be for you.
Had the 16 oz Prime Rib. We ordered it medium rare but would go rare next visit. Also would share the meat between 2 people as it is a lot to eat! Chopped salad was excellent & definitely “shareable”. Baked potato & bread were perfect. Creamy horseradish was not overly hot. Waitress recommended a Red Pinot Noir, Rebellious, which was a fruity, spicy blend. It was neither sweet nor dry which suited me very well. Our first visit & was a good experience. Will be back.
Scott “Scotty” provided excellent service. The wine suggestions were really good. His familiarity with the menu assisted my dinner guest in selecting exceptional entree's.
It was incredible. We will always remember our one year anniversary we spent dining with you. If we ever get back to Pensacola we will most definitely stop by and enjoy another experience. Thank you so much!!
As always, our meal was exquisite. We shared crab beignets for an appetizer which were tasty and fresh. For our entrees, my husband had the chicken breast and I the salmon. We shared berries and Chantilly cream for dessert. Kathy, our server was great and I enjoyed talking with Matt, the manager, about the wines and previous events.
