I recently dined at McAlister’s and was disheartened to find an obligatory tip added to the bill for a meal that was already quite expensive. It feels like a slap in the face and leaves a bitter taste in one's mouth. Are we being served by robots or just callous, heartless humans? Businesses, including McAlister’s, should respect their employees more and just pay them a fair wage instead of relying on obligatory tips customers need to opt out of. Prioritizing empathy and respect for both customers and employees is crucial. I hope Macalester reconsiders this policy. Disappointing experience overall.

Always get this place for pickup or delivery through doordash, it’s so good every time. The food is cheap, we ordered so much for so little. The pickles are amazing, and so is the tea.

McAlister’s has decent food, but lousy service. They consistently get the takeout order wrong. I finally decided to give the cashiers a 15% tip if they would check my orders when they came out of the kitchen. This last time they still got it wrong. But, to be fair, I see this in many restaurants. These kids want a pay check, but they don’t take pride in their work. It will be a long time before I go back there.

Oct 8I found a LONG curly hair in my salad dressing! I went up to the young lady in the front and told her about it and she was vet kind and apologized for the mix up and tried to send it back to the kitchen but there was no one back there! She had to go to the back and get it herself! I really appreciate her doing that but it was very frustrating she had to do because there was no kitchen staff! Other than the food was okay but I'm really grateful she helped me out!

Stopped in for lunch with a friend, and it was a great experience! I had the French Dip, which had fresh crusty bread and lots of meat. My friend had half a Rueben with half a Berry salad. The 1/2 salad almost covered her plate!The server was extremely helpful and polite. We will definitely be back to try other items soon.

The grilled chicken salad was very good and very big. My partner had a black Angus club sandwich and enjoyed it (also big and full). We always go to McAlister's at least once when we're in town.
