The food was ok/ average. The potato was good and hit thw nac n cheese warmnbut mynmeat was a little cool but on the bright side was brought out extremely fast. The coke was apparently low on syrup but atill drinkable The waitress walked by about 3 minutes at the most after serving our food and asked my boyfriend if he wanted a refill on his drink. He replied yes please. She then asked if he would like it in a to go cup. At this point I had fixed my potato (the only hot thing on the plate) and had only taken 1 bite of my food which made me look up real fast in confusion wondering if theybwere about to close and apparently my boyfriend tooknit the same way that we got there too late and they were pushing us out. But we still had an hour and a half till clise like we thought. While wr ate thebwaitresses wete sweeping undet all yhe boths justbaround us and at 1 point boxed ne in eith another booth seat acrosss the isle while she swept under it. I can appreciate the cleaning but don't only donitbaround rhe only 2 customers in the place while theybare eating amd especially dont box them in their booth to do so. Well the to go cup was apparently a good idea since it didn't arrive till after getting our check and he was finished eating for several minutes and it was all carbonation at that point not much syrup to it. When she brought the bill she said I can just ake it now He hadnt even looked at it yet and I was still eating so he rushed to get his wallet out while she stood there staring at him waiting for hin to get his mine out. The bill was about 43 I believe and he handed her a hundred because he wasn't sure how much it was and ahe was standing there waiting . She the n said donyounneed change? The bill was under $50 im not sure why she thought she would get a $50 tip but im not sure if ill be returning to this place

I’ve been coming to Sonny’s BBQ for years, usually on Sundays with a big group of family and friends, and I’ve never had a server quite like Sara. She is hands down the best server I’ve ever had here. From the start, she was so kind and welcoming, and she handled our large group with ease. She was attentive without ever being overbearing, always made sure we had everything we needed, and even gave us great recommendations. What really stood out was how sweet and genuinely caring she was it felt like she truly wanted us to have the best experience possible. Managing a big table isn’t easy, but she went above and beyond to make it effortless. I can honestly say Sara has made our visits to Sonny’s even more enjoyable, and I’d highly recommend asking for her if you want the best service around. It’s rare to find someone who consistently gives that level of attention and service, and she truly made us feel taken care of .

This place has gone down hill, BIG TIME. Everytime I would go through KY I would have to stop in at the one in Richmond, but not anymore. They have changed the recipe of their Q sauce and it's just disappointing. Sad and it's dumb to do so.

I love Sonny's food. I have been a fan since I lived in Jacksonville Florida. This afternoon I ordered a chopped brisket sandwitch from the Richmond Kentucky store . I got it home and sat down to enjoy it. The third bite in I bit into a piece of plastic. Like a plastic bag. turned me completely off my meal. it may be a while before I return.

Walked in to pick up a takeout order, saw about 4 people standing around in the kitchen doing nothing, no one else in sight. Took 5 minutes for anybody to acknowledge me despite the fact that it was completely empty in there. Then they finally got my order & handed it to me (almost dismissed me and let me leave without paying until they saw me standing there with my wallet) & I get back to the car and realize they forgot my sprite, after i get that, i go back home and open my salad to find they completely forgot to put chicken on my chicken caesar salad. After calling the store they try to insist that they don't even sell chicken salads but there is quite literally a picture of one on their menu with the option to get it with or without chicken.

Turkey was very very dry. Corn muffins were old and hard. Coleslaw didn’t taste good. Garlic bread was BURNT! Pulled pork looked pre chewed. Mac and cheese and baked beans and broccoli were the only thing worth eating! Banana Pudding was in a large cup and hard to serve to family fair portions and I don’t feel like we got the amount that we ordered. There wasn’t that much food at all. Will never order here again. Entire family complained and was disappointed.
Parking: No one was there so parking wasn’t an issue.

Every time I have gone into Sonny’s since 2020 to order take out food, it’s been a mess. They have never gotten our order right. I have called and talked to the manager. No help! Today, I went in and waited 15 minutes and no one would let me put in a takeout order. I asked a group of 4 waitresses ( which one agreed to come) and the guy from the bar and no came to take it. Magically disappeared. I walked out and will not be back. I will spread the word to save your time and go elsewhere. Happened at 3:30 11/23/2024 and it was not busy at the time.
