Let's just say I like seasoning in my food. This food is so bland the hospital could serve better ?. Overall experience would be a half star.

I just want to give a shout out to Paula and her staff! They do our Wednesday night meals @forksofelkhornpastist. They do such a great job, always good food. This last one, our Holiday Meal last night (for Thanksgiving and Christmas), was also delicious! Her stuffing/dressing is awesome. So, if you are thinking of ordering from them, you won't be disappointed. The BEST thing - the 7 layer salad! I had it for "dessert" last night, even though they have great desserts as well.

I always get the fried catfish dinner with home fries when I come here. The batter/breading on the catfish is very unique and flavorful. I also love the large proportions they give you (when you order from the menu instead of the buffet) because I can take home lots of leftovers. Sometimes I can make three whole meals from their portions but I know I will always get at least two. This restaurant gives major mom and pop, hole in the wall vibes. They always let me substitute the salad that comes with the catfish for dessert from the buffet. I appreciate that a lot since I am a picky eater who loves dessert and I don’t really eat salad.

Small buffet with delicious home cooking. I highly recommend the salmon patties along with the beans and cornbread! There was a salad bar and several desserts to choose from. Even though it was a very busy day due to the annual 127 Yardsales, we were still seated quickly, and the waitress was polite and attentive. Cook came out and talked to each table.Very friendly, clean family restaurantKid-friendliness: Kid friendly, family atmosphereParking: Large, gravel parking lotWheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access to building without steps

I cannot stress enough how bad this was. Awful service, very limited food options, and the atmosphere was like waiting for the rapture on your grandmother's couch, eating stewed greens until you have been judged. All without background radio, of course, just the waitstaff talking to each other and avoiding the customers. I've read all the reviews. Everyone has a different experience depending on the day, what's on the buffet, who's cooking or who's waiting on you. Each time I've ate lunch here and it's been more than a few over the past 25 + years, I've had a very good experience. The food was good whether off the food bar or off the menu. I know the owner. She's a hardworking woman and would always want her customers to have the best experience possible. Like all restaurants, there are some things that could always be a little better, that's why it's not a 5 star, but for my part, I've never been disappointed. My only advice, is go when they are busy. That's when you will get the best service and the best food. You may have to wait a bit, don't go if you are in a hurry and they are busy. There are only so many hands in a locally owned restaurant. And I also advise that if you are not happy with your food or your service, ask to talk with the manager or owner. They can't know your experience or satisfaction unless you tell them and if they are the type that pays attention, they will fix it!

The food was cold. I mean it had a chill to it as if it had been sored in a refrigerator before being placed in the steam table pans at the buffet. The staff was even colder. When I asked for a water refill I got tap water with no ice and the water was room temperature. No one smiles or is in a hurry. Menus are limited so you have to wait until someone is finished ordering in order to get one. Once the food is on the table, a long wait if you order off menu, no one comes back to the table to check on you. When we were ready to leave we had to aske to be checked out as all the staff was having a gab fest at a corner table and no one offered to help us. These folk could learn a lot from the folks at The Butter Dish restaurant down in Pikeville, Tn. In Tennessee they smile, offer great service, hot food and real southern hospitality. In the future I will be driving the extra distance to Tennessee rather than go to Harrodsburg, Ky.

The restaurant was packed with the weekday lunch crowd when we came in, but we were allowed to seat ourselves. The buffet was loaded with fried chicken and sides, which we made a note of for future reference. Both of our sandwiches were delicious, and the iced tea was excellent. Service was friendly and attentive, and our meal was inexpensive. We'll come back when our travels bring us that way.

We went to eat there, and it was expensive. Like $14 a person plus drinks! Had a unclean bathroom, Yuck.. Also there was hair in my mashed potatoes. Also when I was in there i noticed it was all elderly people no young and everyone was talking. The sweet tea definitely needed alot more water aswell and the food was cold and made me a little sick after eating jt.Vegetarian options: I do not know

Definitely a local place, not meant for travelers or folks passing through! We weren't really greeted, just walked to a table and sort of left standing there! She asked what we wanted to drink then left! Hubby asked if there was a menu or only the buffet before she ran away for our waters and she said she'd bring him a menu. Seemed like we were supposed to know what we were doing! We both opted for the buffet which is very small but exactly what I wanted! There was no salad bar, just a premixed salad that was getting droopy after only being open an hour, it was good. The protein choices were pork tenderloin or salmon croquettes. The salmon was everything I wanted it to be and more!! The tenderloin was a little tough but the fatty pieces were wonderful! Mashed potatoes, gravy, several veggies, corn cakes and rolls, it was definitely a meal! Great value for lunch! Three stars for the food, zero for the service, or should I say lack thereof! Very unfriendly and unapproachable staff for such a small town spot. Even when hubby went to pay it was a bark of "What'd you have?" without even looking at him. Left with an odd, what-just-happened, twilight sort of feeling!
