It’s not enough that the food was amazing—the spinach artichoke cheese crostini appetizer was to die for, the cocktails were spot-on, and both the rib eye and pork main dishes were among the best we’ve ever had. But what truly elevated the experience to Michelin Star quality was Mary Beth, our incredible attendant. Her service made the evening unforgettable. Bell House is absolutely worth the drive to Shelbyville, and the outstanding food and service will definitely keep us coming back. Thank you Bell house for a wonderful evening

Had a wonderful meal here while driving through KY. Was nervous as the website said reservations recommended but thought we’d give it a try. Hostess was friendly and accommodating and sat us right away. Had the Shelby mule and it was delicious. Pimiento risotto cakes for appetizer were uniquely delicious. I had chicken Parmesan. Marinara was homemade, chicken breast perfectly cooked. Husband had rosemary lemon chicken with potatoes and asparagus. Dessert was bourbon coffee and creme brulee. Waitress was so friendly, I felt like I was a regular. Executive chef came around to tables to ask about food. If I’m ever in Shelbyville again, will definitely be back! Thanks for an unexpected delight and romantic evening out!

We have consistently experienced poor customer service from Rhonda, the manager. Each time we have placed a takeout order, she has been extremely rude and such an unpleasant demeanor and have encountered her rudeness the last three times we have ordered take-out, and every phone interaction with her has been unnecessarily difficult. I have given her the benefit of the doubt multiple times, assuming she may have been having a bad day, but after four consecutive negative experiences, it’s clear this is a pattern. While I understand and respect the restaurant’s policy of not taking payment over the phone, Rhonda refuses to even provide an order total, which is frustrating. Tonight, my daughter goes in to pick-up our take-out order, 10 minutes prior to the quoted time Rhonda provided and when my daughter politely inquired about it, Rhonda snapped, “You only ordered 16 minutes ago. No, it’s not ready,” in a condescending and rude tone. To make matters worse, our most recent order—nearly $100 worth of food—was inedible. The hot browns were so tough and burnt that we couldn’t cut through them and had to throw them away. The wedge salad consisted of old, brown lettuce. The side of the evening was burnt to the point that some pieces were inedible. The pasta was clumped together in a sticky ball, the broccoli was old, and my son’s twice-baked potato was so overcooked and tough that it couldn’t be cut through. When I called to address the food quality, I asked to speak with the General Manager. Rhonda immediately stated that she was the manager and repeatedly dodged my request to speak to the GM. She refused to provide his full name and was dismissive of my concerns, only willing to take my information for a callback. This experience was beyond unacceptable. Not only was the food subpar, but the customer service was unprofessional and outright rude. We have dined at Bell House frequently, but after this, we will not be returning. It is disappointing to be treated this way consistently. I do NOT recommend and will not ever go back.

We just happened upon this place while we were in the area. The food was fabulous. I had the hot brown because of others’ reviews and it was wonderful! My husband had the lasagna and it was great as well. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic restaurant. I had my first Kentucky hot brown. Heavenly. Relaxing atmosphere, wonderful service, and the chef even came out to chat after the meal. This is what a night out is supposed to be. A+
