Almost skipped this place. Glad we didn’t. The food was all freshly prepared. The restaurant was clean, the staff friendly. If you are in the Shelbyville area, get off the highway and come to downtown Shelbyville. You won’t regret it.

After a trip to a local distillery, we had the pleasure of dining at the La Cocina de mi Mama in Shelbyville, Ky. Everything you could wish in a dining experience was afforded to us by this lovely restaurant. The atmosphere was warm with wood furnishings, natural and artificial lighting, and comfortable booths. Service was friendly, prompt and accurate. The best part was the food! Authentically prepared Mexican cuisine and generous portions. My wife had a totally positive reaction...
