Good food. Potato wasn't quite hot enough toto melt cheese, but everything else was phenomenal and quick.

Went here after a day of hiking at Red River, and REALLY enjoyed our food - and it’s not JUST because we were hungry from hiking! We’re originally from the STL area but now live in Louisville, so we’re kind of picky when it comes to our BBQ… none of the BBQ in Louisville compares to Thatcher’s! Amazing and personal service even when busy, along with the delicious food already has us thinking about our next trip!

My husband and I were in Red River Gorge for the first time. When we travel into what we consider the south we like to find bbq. Thatcher’s didn’t disappoint. My husband enjoyed the brisket sandwich and I had the Mac n cheese with pulled chicken. The special sauce is delicious as is the Alabama white sauce. We topped off dinner with the banana pudding and peach cobbler. Highly recommend!

Their loaded potato with pulled pork is worth every penny! Get there early to make sure you get that you want especially the last day they're open. They did their best to accommodate us! We drove out of our way home from Tennessee to come here.

Very friendly staff and great service! I had the brisket and it was fabulous. Got the greens and sweet potato casserole for sides. You get a LOT of food and it was all very good! I feel the prices are good for the quality and quantity of food. Great location and easy parking. I would have showed a picture but my phone was dead from all the pictures I took of arches today!

Visiting the area with family.
Food was great and large portion. Rocky helped us with deciding what to get; she was very energetic and helpful and made our visit more enjoyable. We would definitely return.

MAH!

2025 update:
Went last Sunday because a friend wanted to. It’s back to being pretty darn good. Smokey and tender brisket, great mac and cheese, and unique potato salad. I’d give it 4 or 5 stars. Switching my review from 1 star to 3 stars to split the difference despite the owners annoying reply from 4 years ago.

2021 review:
Used to be amazing. We used to look forward to this as part of our trip to RRG. We went Saturday 7/31. Brisket had no smoke ring. It was either baked or broiled. They salted and peppered the slices instead of having proper bark. A quality bbq place would be embarrassed. Mac and cheese was watered down and was a noodle soup. I’d guess they were busy and decided to cut corners instead of just saying they were out of stuff. Or they just stopped being a quality bbq place. Good local beer selection and hash brown casserole was good.
