We found this delightful restaurant while doing business near Lexington, Ky. The service was excellent by Ruthie, the fried green tomatoes were fantastic. John got the Blackened chicken sandwich and I had the vegetable pasta. Both excellent. We got the fresh grilled peach with ice cream. Wow! Wonderful!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An unforgettable night at Chalet Gourmet! From start to finish, everything about our evening at Chalet Gourmet was exceptional. The food was absolutely fantastic—every dish was bursting with rich, delicious flavors and presented like a work of art. The cocktails were just as impressive—beautifully crafted and perfectly balanced. The staff was incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making us feel welcomed and well cared for the entire evening. But what truly set this experience apart was the surprise proposal that unfolded at the end of our meal—made even more magical with the help of the chef, who was in on the secret! For dessert, he rolled out a cart and prepared a stunning berry flambé tableside, and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, he revealed a tiny cup holding the most gorgeous engagement ring. It was such a beautiful, heartfelt moment, and Chalet Gourmet helped make it perfect in every way. This place will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend for a special occasion—or any time you just want an incredible meal and memorable experience.

We are on a Keto diet, chef Michael very accommodating. He made a mushroom and cheese appetizer for us that was unbelievable. For lunch I had a quiche and my guest had the blacken chicken with fried green tomatoes and bacon. Also outstanding. Our server Bethany was very pleasant and attentive. Coming from Richmond is a bit of a ride but we will be making a special trip soon.

We love to dine with The Chalet Gourmet for special occasions. We celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary over the Fourth of July weekend with The Chalet Gourmet and it didn’t disappoint. Our appetizer of fried green tomatoes was (as usual) delicious and fresh. My husband ordered the Maple Leaf farms duck and he loved it. I tried a bite myself and it was tasty! I ordered the Chicken Chalet and was surprised by the serving size—it was huge! The chicken was tender, juicy, and delicious. I love the mashed potatoes at The chalet so I was glad to get them with my chicken. It’s totally a comfort meal! For dessert we shared the Peaches and Cream. Oh my was it yummy! I recommend it if you love grilled fruit and creamy vanilla ice cream. We had a beautiful dinner with great service. I can’t recommend them enough. If you have a special date or occasion to celebrate, this is the place to go! The atmosphere, service, food, and location are perfect.

Upscale French inspired restaurant. EverYthing was delicious and the staff was friendly and accommodating. My husband and I was celebrating our anniversary and we sat in the loft area. Perfect restaurant for a romantic meal. I had the honey apples wrapped in bacon and my husband had the escargot for appetizers. I had the duck for my meal and my husband had the red snapper. They were delicious as well. If I had to give one critique is it was definitely expensive. For example, the upsell price on the wine... A bottle of their house wine in the store sells for $9 and they charged $25.

First time here, we're new to KY. Years ago, I was a food & beverage director at one of the better fine dining dinner clubs in Houston, so I have knowledge of what fine dining is.

Just my wife and I dinning this visit, we made reservations 2 days in advance for 6:45pm Saturday, it was the evening before Mothers Day, we were celebrating my wife's birthday that day.

The exterior of the Chalet is quite attractive, as is the lower and upper dining rooms. Some patrons casually dressed were seated in the outdoor dining area. Once we entered the restaurant, all the patrons were dressed more like one would expect at a more exclusive restaurant or club. The main dining room was full. We were immediately greeted and quickly seated upstairs in a loft overlooking the main dining room.

Our server was quick and attentive to us. All excellent so far.

Our shared appetizer came out in a timely manner and was an ample portion for two and tasty. This is where the excellence took a detor.

We waited well over an hour for our entrees to be served, and the time between appetizer and entree was excessively long with little attention provided by our server.

My wife had the Duck, she commented that it was quite tasty, the presentation was appealing, and the sides were also quite excellent.

My entree was the Roast Boneless pork chop. Again presentation was attractive, the serving portion was huge, the sides were great, I'm not usually a fan of sweet potatoes, however the bed of sweet potatoes under the pork chop was truly scrumptious. Unfortunately, the pork chop was ruined by being overcooked and dried out. It was edible but just. One end of the chop was not so overcooked, and I could taste what a fabulous entree this would have been if not ruined.

During dinner, service was again slow. We waited more than 15 minutes after finishing, and then we had to ask another server to find our server for us to request our bill.

When we left, the main dining room was all but cleared of guests. I think our arrival must have been towards the end of the evening's peak, seems odd that our service was far better during the height of the rush than experienced afterwards.

The Chalet has an interesting menu and I was tempted by many of the choices. The ambience is a finer dining experience It's a smaller place with alot of hard surfaces so if busy expect a steady roar of conversation, but not so loud you can't converse with those at your table.

The Chalet is a place we will try again and I'm hoping it will prove to become a future favorite.
