Apple fritter was great! Blueberry cake donut was flavorful as well as the caramel iced donut. Short wait. Nice, home style atmosphere. Definitely would come here again.

Ordered a Birthday Cake for my mom's 80th Birthday Party and can't express enough how beautiful the cake was and how tasty! I ordered the 14" two tier (lemon flavored with whipped icing) and it fed approx 55 people (with quite a bit left over). There were so many people that commented on how beautiful it was. Thank you!The picture does not even do it justice... it was a very big cake. Would recommend Plehn's for sure. Was also nostalgic for my mom as they did my parents Wedding Cake over 55 years ago.

I have gone to plehns for over 30 years. I have grown accustomed to the short and somewhat rude customer service from the staff over the years. However, today was different. My son had done an on line order last night. He went to plehns this morning and asked for the order. The lady told him there was no order. He showed her the order on his phone and then she told him it was the wrong website. He then ordered a new 2 dozen doughnuts. Later in the day, around 3 pm we recieved a call that our order was ready....what? I went there and asked what we had done wrong. I assumed I was going to work with them to figure out where the disconnect was and how we can do business with them on line in the future. When I explained the issue I was met with immediate defensiveness. Instead of discussing it I was asked "do you want the doughnuts or not". At the end of the day it is extremely disappointing that a company you have done business with for years and usually (not always) get a quality product you want to continue to go there. Oh well. Any suggestions on new bakeries?

Our favorite bakery on this end of town, the oranges blossoms are the most perfect creation and I love them. Service is always fast and friendly... everything is fresh, and they sell out of a lot quickly. Place your orders the day before or morning of so you do not miss out. It's a very cute shop and the displays are always stunning. Have gotten several of my kids birthday cakes here, so so so tasty!! Chefs kiss hit em 5 times!!

Plehns did my wedding cake last year and I’ll never use another bakery now. For any celebration we will be getting our cakes from them. They have delicious cakes, their staff is friendly and professional and did I mention their cakes are DELICIOUS!
I think this is the Best bakery in town! They have everything from cookies to cakes and I have never had any problems with anything here! My favorite is the Butter Kuchen, it's good!

Plehn's designed and baked my husband and mine's wedding cake this past October and it turned out beautiful! They were so easy to work with and even offered a tasting. After my initial consultation I changed my mind about the design. I could come into the shop because we lived in Chicago, so they let me email them my design and it looked like an exact replica! They were wonderful. I highly recommend :).

I can't say enough about this bakery. I would let the picture speak to their excellent decorating skill, but I would be doing a complete injustice to the depth of it if I didn't point out something not obvious about the cake by looking at it, even up close: there isn't a single scrap of fondant on this cake. That is all icing. Delicious icing on a very delicious cake. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I have been buying specialty cakes from here for over 15 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else.

We were in Louisville for a weekend on the way to Thanksgiving in Illinois with the family. We wanted to take some baked goods for the dinner and looked for the best bakery in town. Words cannot describe how good the chocolate pie and custard pie were. We also couldn’t resist having a chocolate honey bun and a cinnamon pastry, which we ate before we ever even started the car. Plehn’s is the best bakery I have tried, anywhere, in any city.

Twenty dollars is WAY TOO MUCH for a dozen donuts. Find some other means to gouge the people while looking so old fashioned and enduring, but don’t gouge the public on dinky fifty-cent donuts. I won’t be back.
