Hometown Pizza - Taylorsville

Good pizza. Service depends on which server you get. Chris is awesome! She always does a great job. Some of the other servers not so much. It was a much better value when they offered a buffet and now with new owners they don't offer lunch specials anymore, its getting a little pricey.

I have ordered carry out from and dined in at this location for years. The pizza has always been fail-safe. It could always be counted upon to be delicious and the same each time you ordered. Until the last 2 orders- both carry out which were awful. The first time, we thought it was a fluke- just an off night. We tried again tonight. It was worse. Nothing crazy/complicated was ordered- 1/2 cheese and 1/2 pepperoni. The cheese side was over baked, dark brown (burnt), and hard with the cheese almost non-existent; I never order extra cheese at Hometown because they always put so much on but not this time. The pieces of were dry and stiff. Not at all what I have come to expect from Hometown. The pepperoni side was much more appealing, however it had considerably less pepperoni than usual. Usually, I have to remove some pepperoni because there is too much for me but not tonight. I am not sure what’s happened there to cause these changes, but we will be hesitant to try a 3rd time. Very disappointing because it is/used to be the only good pizza we had in Taylorsville.

We regularly visit this location after finishing a day on the lake. The pizza is excellent, especially if you want extra toppings. Our go-to pizza is extra cheese, extra mushrooms, pepperoni, and onions on thick crust which they make masterfully. The cheesy bread is great, too!

Definitely worth a visit!

Staying local for the first time and this pizza joint was recommended. Prompt service. My husband housed the thick crust, buffalo chicken pizza while I enjoyed the cauliflower crust white chicken pizza. Two thumbs up from the kids too (free kids pizza or spaghetti on Monday nights with an adult order). If you're staying at the lake, and craving pizza, go here!
