“This ice cream is so GOOOOOOD! A local recommended we stop here while visiting the area and it did not disappoint! I had a very generous scoop of Churrochata (🤩 this was even better than I'd hoped for) and a scoop of an extra chocolatey chocolate (I can't remember the name, but it was a chocolate lovers dream). Two scoops ended up being A LOT for me, I couldn't even finish! Often ice cream will make me feel a little blah, especially if I eat a large portion but this ice cream was only deliciousness!!! My boyfriend had a chocolate shake and asked for extra thick as well. He is pretty particular when it comes to his chocolate shakes and The Brick delivered. He was very happy with it! Definitely add this stop to your trip around the loop at the Red River Gorge, it's absolutely worth it!”

“We have come to RRR two times, once in October 2024 and again this October, 2025. Five stars both times. The vibe is so chill- friendly, laid back and intentional. The food is delicious - big fan of the bacon cheeseburger, kale salad and sweet potato fries. The drinks on tap are fantastic! Love the artwork displayed by local artists on the walls. Make sure you stop in - we wish we would have passed on the overrated, underwhelming Hungry Hiker and patronized RRR two days in a row instead- it’s that good.”

“My friend and I came through a couple weekends ago. We were both thoroughly pleased. She had the pulled pork sandwich and sweet potato casserole. I had the street tacos(two pulled pork and one brisket) with the hash brown casserole. AMAZING!!!! Very friendly people as well and this will be a place I visit every time I go hiking.”

“Hill Top Pizza has the best food at the best prices and great people working there. I order at least once a week, usually 2x. Our current favorite is the BBQ Chicken Pizza that we add bacon and onions to. The sauce is so good and the toppings are so fresh. You can tell it's real food cooked up too and not something they buy frozen and put on it. My husband doesn't even like BBQ chicken pizza but he loves theirs. Don is a great delivery driver/restaurant worker. We love them all but we're particularly fond if him. What a great guy. Definitely give this place a try. It got me and the hubs hooked immediately!”

“Absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS! Best catfish in Kentucky!!! My beau and I loved the delicious food and both came back a year later for the same catfish sandwiches! The catfish is crispy, flaky, and melts in your mouth! I usually drown my fish in tartar sauce, but the catfish was so good, it didn’t need any additional sauces/seasonings! Excellent portions for a good price. Our waitress Lisa took wonderful care of us and knows hikers come hungry in hungry and thirsty, so our cups stayed full! She brought us drinks to-go without us asking as well and offered to let us sit and chat after we paid and continue drink refills. Beautiful view from the table, excellent service, clean establishment, friendly staff, I wish I could give 6/5 stars! We will be back!”

Although I initially planned to focus solely on the quality of the food and service, an encounter with a rude individual from France, who unfortunately had an unpleasant smell, made a lasting impression on my overall visit. Let's start with the positives. The Subway restaurant in Beattyville, Kentucky, boasts a clean and inviting ambiance. The seating area was well-maintained, and the staff members appeared friendly and accommodating. I was promptly greeted upon entering, and the employees seemed eager to assist in crafting my sandwich to my liking. As for the food itself, Subway offers a wide range of options to cater to various dietary preferences. The bread was fresh, and the vegetables were adequately crisp and flavorful. The sandwich artists skillfully assembled my order, ensuring that each ingredient was proportionate and neatly placed. In terms of taste, the flavors were decent, although not particularly extraordinary. However, my experience took an unfortunate turn when a fellow customer, who happened to be from France, entered the restaurant. Regrettably, this individual's behavior was both rude and unpleasant, aka "French". Their demeanor was dismissive towards the staff, and they seemed uninterested in abiding by the generally accepted norms of polite behavior. Adding to the disappointment was the noticeable unpleasant odor emitted by this individual. While it's important to remember that everyone has different cultural norms and sensitivities, it would have been more considerate for them to be mindful of personal hygiene, particularly in a shared public space such as a restaurant. Though the encounter with the French individual was a regrettable aspect of my visit, it would be unfair to let it define the entire experience. The staff members at Subway in Beattyville, Kentucky, remained professional and attempted to handle the situation as best they could, despite the challenge presented by the individual's demeanor and odor. In conclusion, my visit to Subway in Beattyville, Kentucky, left much to be desired. While the restaurant itself was clean and the staff was friendly, an unfortunate encounter with a rude individual from France, accompanied by an unpleasant odor, marred an otherwise ordinary dining experience. It is my hope that future visits to this establishment will be more enjoyable and devoid of such unexpected incidents.”

We all enjoyed the restaurant . We highly recommend this restaurant.”
