Best dang food best dang service all around great place

I ordered the sashimi (hopefully I spelled corrected). The man on the phone told me the chef would choose the pieces and I opted to add a seaweed salad. I suppose I may have been spoiled when I visited Trappers in San Antonio Texas and ordered the same. Everything had such a different taste at Trappers. At Red river the pieces were cut pretty neat and everything well presented however the taste was more fishy than I previously had. I Expected a hint of fishyness but not to the point I experienced. The seaweed salad that I ordered to go with was also extremely fishy. I will try another place next time.

Great food

It's not often that you find a true 5 star place. But this is it. Next time I'm in town I'll be back. Everything was just on point.

The food use to be great but not anymore it is terrible

I got the Maki Roll Lunch special which came with a salmon roll, spicy tuna, and California roll. Fish was fresh, food came out fast. The issue was that the rice was not sushi rice (usually flavored with sugar, mirin, etc;) but just plain white jasmine rice that was a little bit too dry to be used for sushi. The ratio of fish to rice is also not great, too much rice.
The rolls were also cut into uneven pieces, with some too thick. Honestly I picked off all the rice and just ate the inside of the rolls.

The service was good, food came fast. Large portions. It’s clean inside. I would probably just order sashimi next time.

Salmon roll- 4/5 due to freshness of salmon. Rice sucked.

California roll- 2/5. Rice ruined it. Some pieces too thick.

Spicy tuna roll-1/5. Horrible rice. The spicy tuna also had a weird flavor and was not enjoyable.

They fried oyster shells, their shrimp fried rice is the best in Alexandria. Their fried shrimp is amazing . They are fast in service too with affordable price

Located in a nice area. Good welcoming at entrance. Menu has many sushi and seafood options. Prices are very reasonable. Food portion is so good. Waitress was so kind and attentive. Place is clean and seating is comfortable. I got blackened fish, two sushi roles and fried mushrooms. Food is tasty. Sushi taste good but it has too much rice rather than filling! If this is not solved would not come back honestly, since sushi is the main reason for coming to such places.

Honestly, the Versailles location is some of the better sushi I have had on my travels throughout the south. Pretty extensive menu with a few surprises mixed in. Including the best fried okra in this town, hands down. Shop is no-frills but food seems excellent and consistent

If you have never eaten here, you are very much so missing out! Every single time I eat in or get take out, the food is so fresh and delicious! I HIGHLY recommend the crab puffs, the spicy crab roll, and the miso soup! I also highly suggest ordering a side of their SPICY MAYO! The ibly thing I wish was that I wish the restaurant had a little more decoration. Amazing all around, and the staff is always so sweet!
