Review for Bistro Italia – A Must-Visit! Just had an incredible reunion with some of the old Louis D’Angelo’s crew, and where else could we have possibly gathered but the new local gem Bistro Italia in Baton Rouge? Let me tell you—this place didn’t just live up to the legacy… it grabbed the torch and sprinted with it. The food? Absolutely delicious. You can taste the love and authenticity in every bite—just like the good old days, but somehow even better. The service? Top-notch. Friendly, fast, and made us feel like we were family (or maybe just regulars they actually like—kidding, kind of). Big kudos to the team at Bistro Italia for creating a warm, welcoming spot with flavor and charm. If you’re in Baton Rouge and craving Italian done right—go. Go now. Order everything. And if you’re one of the old crew? You’ll feel right at home. Highly recommend. 12/10. Chef’s kiss

I love their pizza and pasta, it hits with the same taste if not better. The service is top notch, always busy yet many people I’ve told them about have never been.

Greatly disappointed on my recent trip to this restaurant, prices have skyrocketed and food quality has diminished. Doubtful I will be visiting this restaurant again.

Bistro Sadness. Ordered out. Not sure if it’s better there. But this was pretty bad.

The good: fried croutons.

The bad: everything else. Store bought pizza dough and cooked with the basil on it, so the entire pie has an unpleasant taste. The ravioli are frozen, the marinara is bland, the meatballs are full of hard chunks you have to pick out of your mouth.

This place gets great reviews but I would give it a 2/5.

And the portions are shockingly small. For $50 I feel like I got $25 worth of food. 2 small meatballs and half a dozen ravioli for over $20?

Would not recommend.

My husband and I have enjoyed the food from Bistro Italiano since they first opened (about 10 years). We have loved every dish we have tried and have done so on an almost weekly basis. They make authentic dishes from “Mama’s” recipes.

Great food. Great service. Hidden in a small strip mall near Coursey and Sherwood Forest Blvd. the restaurant is busy, lively and clearly a neighborhood favorite. Try it, you'll like it!

Our food was fantastic!! Dinner prices are expensive but the portions are huge. The house wine was the best house wine I’ve had in BR! The focaccia bread reminded me of the cheese bread at Deangelo’s! ??? Delicious! Highly recommend the Eggplant Meatball Rollatini. (They make chips in house too! ??)

At Bistro Italia, The Big Lou calzone stole the show. It packed a punch with pepperoni, Italian sausage, and cheese working together like the Three Amigos. Dunking it in marinara sauce was like having the time of my life - simply magical!

Good meal. Asked for ranch. Server said its not available. I asked her how many times a day she had to decline that request. She said alot, she was new and would suggest making it available as she and I and everyone in our party liked it with pizza and other items on the menu. Please make ranch available. So easy to make a good one in house or at least get a cheap one premade to satisfy request. I’ll be back! Just gonna bring my own homemade ranch next time. I’ll share if ya see me! Lol
