“We were in town for a baseball tournament and our children wanted some rice and noodles. We stopped in here because of the reviews and they did not disappoint. The fried rice was delicious! We also enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken and egg drop soup. What made the experience so pleasant was the staff. The owner came over and talked with us for a bit. He was very friendly and personable. Our server was also very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place!”

“We were in BR for Labor Day. This place was so good. My dish was the Indonesian noodles my husband had the vege lasagna. It's all vegan. You get what you pay for.

“DO IT! Let me say if you are ever in Baton Rouge, LA you have to stop here. Mr. Bellue sat with us as we ate. He had a sample a little bit of everything before ordering. He told us how he was a retired police officer and opened his own welding company which was conveniently located next door. He said cooking was always his hobby. From the Yams to Mustard Greens to Fried Boudin to Crawfish Etoufee.. omg my belly was full. Great Food and Great Convo. He has a map to pin what locations of the world have been there. We put McQueeney on the map!”

“Extremely rude workers. They delete comments if they don't like the review. We had a party of 10 and waited like they asked then they tried to seat us at a table for 6 people. Five people would be piled on top of each other on a booth. asked to add a table ( there were 3 empty tables right by us) they said no but we could wait an additional hour for a table. asked for manager and a girl comes out saying she is manager. No apologies no nothing. We did call ahead and were told no same day reservations but they had a big enough table to accommodate us. I have been reading reviews and there are a ton similar to our experience. It's starting to seem they do not want to accommodate large parties and try to make the experience so unbearable that they eventually leave. We ALWAYS tip over 25 percent even when service sucks. Their loss!!”

“Elsie’s plate and pie First off, the service was outstanding. We got right in, mostly because there were just two of us, but the place was packed on a Sunday afternoon. This is not a place that you would just happen upon, you have to be looking for it. The atmosphere is great and it’s not too loud to have a conversation. We started with the crawfish queso. It came with pork skins instead of chips. Fantastic. The queso was very flavorful and there was plenty of it. I ordered the seafood pot pie. The crust was very flaky and the flavor screamed Louisiana seafood. Crab, crawfish, and shrimp. It was very hardy and meaty. My wife ordered the crustless crab pie with Gouda grits. The grist were the first I have had with Gouda, and they were very good. The crab pie was very tasty. Somewhere between a crab cake and an omelette. This place is comfort meets Cajun. Pot pie, queso, and crab cake”ish”. Our server was Grace and she is super. She got my tea wrong and instead waiting to see if I noticed, she immediately realized her mistake and corrected it. She was extremely professional and among the best servers I have had in a long time. This is a return to hole in the wall. It is well hidden, but well worth the journey! Ask for Grace and tip her well.”

“Easily the best salmon I've ever eaten. the server (I can't remember his name but he was a history teacher primarily) was amazing and very engaging with us. he even had no problem going back and forth between the kitchen and our table to ensure my dairy-free girlfriend could still have something delicious. truly a restaurant worth returning to if you are in the area.”

The Brussel sprouts—My Goodness (why so few)! The macaroni—Out of this world--OMG! I love to taste my food and appreciate that you let the food shine—not overpowering it with spices or over cooking it. Our waiter—Nick was very warm and helpful. Reagan—the host—was a sweet heart. Can’t wait for an excuse to go back.

“I don’t know if anyone reads anything from this site but I wanted to post a rave for the Baton Rouge location. My mom was transferred into hospice care on the day I ate at your restaurant. It was a horrible day until the nicest server/waitress I have ever had sat us down. She couldn’t have known what we were going through or how much she brightened our day. She was pregnant, I know that. Otherwise I don’t remember her name. One of those days I guess. She just had this light about her and when she smiled Everything seemed a little better. I think God put her there at that moment. Hopefully she will be there the next time we go. But if not I was posting this to tell her thankyou for being you. And good luck with your pregnancy. “A friend referred me to Stone and Cloth last year, when I told her I was looking for a new stone for my breakfast table. My mother and I walked into their shop pre-lockdown and were warmly welcomed by Kelly Kirby. She gave me great suggestions for a replacement stone and a list of the Stone Distributors in town to search for my desired slab. Her suggestion for the marble was spot on and that’s the one we selected for our breakfast table. Since I placed my order during the lockdown, installation was delayed until phase 2 would allow for work to commence. During the waiting period, Kelly worked with me regarding having my existing breakfast table stone retrofitted for one of my bathroom counters. They removed the existing sink and under-mounted a new one to freshen up bathroom. At the same time, we realized the remaining piece of the slab for the breakfast table would fit perfectly in a second bathroom and a new sink under-mounted as well. We are very pleased with the excellent fabrication of all of the stone work and the installers had been polite, thorough and efficient. I highly recommend using Stone and Cloth for all of your building needs.”
