“The food was really good, like I was gonna save my mom some but I had to finish off the plate good. I got the fish w/rice beans and a salad. That rice was simple but very tasty! The re-fried beans is hands down the best beans I have ever had . Now that fish omg they had to have just caught it how fresh it tasted. I was in awww of how well this fish was executed and the dish as a whole .The lady’s cooking was very patient with me asking about the menu and what’s what . Definitely gonna go back again to get this fish plate .“

“There's a saying that if you want some good food you'll find it attached to a gas station. This was definitely all facts! I wasn't looking for anything specific to eat but this place called to me so I whipped into the parking lot and headed in! This is such a homey type of place that puts a lot of pride and joy in their food and showing off Latin culture.Los Alvarez Exxpress Latin Food is a local mom and pop spot on the corner of Gardere and Burbank next to the S&P Food Store/Chevron gas station. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect going in but what I got was a lot of warmth and comfort. This is a place for Latin locals to relax and get a bit of familiarity and good food. I dined in and ordered the Granadas Catrachas. Catrachas are traditionally known as Honduran tostadas. Los Alvarez puts their spin on it by using Granada flour to create a puff pocket and stuff it with meat, rice and cheese and serve it with encurtido (Honduran pickled vegetables). I ordered one with chicken and one with beef. The serving was huge and absolutely delicious! I was only able to eat one. That, on top of the chips and salsa and black bean dip had me full for the rest of the day! Everyone that works there is friendly and for a second you don't feel like you're in Baton Rouge. This is a magical place.“

“We ordered the food via DoorDash, but omg. It was SOOOOO GOOD. I got the birria tacos and it was amazing. I’m sitting here writing this review so happy and full. I made a good choice for today’s lunch. I wish I’d taken time to take a picture before I started, but I think the one I’m attaching is good enough evidence that everybody should give this place a try “
