“This was my first trip to J. Alexander's, but it will not be my last. I ordered the red beans and rice as the soup of the day and was pleasantly surprised by the portion I received. I was expecting a small cup and received a sizable bowl. It was perfectly cooked and excellently seasoned. It had just th right amount of kick and the flavors blended perfectly. I had the Cypress Salad as my entree with grilled chicken. The salad greens were crisp. The chicken was flawless, as were the condiments. This meal paired very well with Yuzu Mule I ordered. I highly recommend that drink if you'd like a refreshing take on the traditional Moscow Mule.

The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, dinner with friends or in my case, a travel meal while on a business trip. I can't wait to try the one where I live to see if the experience and business are consistent.“

“I don’t know if anyone reads anything from this site but I wanted to post a rave for the Baton Rouge location. My mom was transferred into hospice care on the day I ate at your restaurant. It was a horrible day until the nicest server/waitress I have ever had sat us down. She couldn’t have known what we were going through or how much she brightened our day. She was pregnant, I know that. Otherwise I don’t remember her name. One of those days I guess. She just had this light about her and when she smiled Everything seemed a little better. I think God put her there at that moment. Hopefully she will be there the next time we go. But if not I was posting this to tell her thankyou for being you. And good luck with your pregnancy. “The food was amazing. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch menu which included the French onion soup, fried oyster salad and for entrees we ate the New Orleans Crab Cake Benedict and Short Rib Benedict. The manger was so gracious as to give me a small bottle of champagne to take home since all the desserts were made with chocolate and I am allergic. We will definitely be back for the dinner menu. Fantastic table side service, beautiful ambiance and excellent master chef food.“
