“So, I'm not explicitly saying I am a bbq snob, but unless I'm home (Texas), KC, or Carolina, I typically won't even try a place. However, I was with a group of locals that was sure their place could change my mind. Spoiler alert...it didn't. With that said, there were definitely some good points. First off, you could smell the smokers when you were in the parking lot, so great start. We showed up at the tail end of lunch and there were a lot of people seated. It took about 30 minutes to get seated, but it was a large crowd. I have no issues with the wait. I ordered a two meat plate with burnt ends, brisket, Mac and cheese and fries. Overall, I'm disappointed to say the Mac and cheese was the best. And it WAS really good. The burnt ends were way to dry for the most part. There were a couple of bites that were delightful, but for the most part all the fat had been rendered and they were just dry little nuggets. The brisket was ok. Also a little too dry and sliced thinner than I'm used to. It did have a decent smoke ring though! Our server was excellent. Kept checking on us and made sure drinks were filled. No issues there whatsoever. Would I come here as a destination meal? Not likely. But again, I live in what I consider the brisket capitol of the country, so keep that in mind. There were definitely some good bites, just not every bite. I give it a non bbq state 4 stars. “
“We ate there and all of us ordered either Brisket or Baby Back Ribs with 2 sides. All was very good. cook just right and the sides were baked beans (great) and Waffle FF (great), also the Mac/Cheese was good also . They offer a variety of cooked meats and sides along with sandwiches. We are going to go back soon. By the way there were a bunch (100 or so) cars in the parking lot, which is very large and a bunch of space to sit down and enjoy our meal. All the plates ordered came out fast and everything was hot & cooked perfectly. The Beach Volleyball was going on strong.“
“Went for late night drinks on a slower Sunday. We had the place to ourselves for the most part. The barkeep was attentive, yet allowed us our privacy to enjoy each other's conversation and company. Great service and good drinks. An enjoyable late night.“
“Got a daiquiri today and it was good the suicidal one thank you to the person who took my order at the window nice and friendly. They didn’t have what I ask for the red white and blue I’m from New Orleans been out in Baton Rouge for a year now thank “
“This is a awsome chill place. I spent most of the time on the touchscreen game machine they have. The nachos they have are great as a snack. They also have pizza to order. The jukebox is nice. They have a beautiful decoration of alot l.s.u stuff. The bartender was great and treated me and my freind really good. The people were nice around and and I was able to start good conversations. The pool tables are nice. I highly recomend coming here.“
“Damn, what a spot. For game day there is no better place than right here at Fred's. What a great time. The bartender Mathew took awesome care of us and he ran the bar like a boss. How can it get any better when the big man himself is on the grill cooking all the steaks and his wife is keeping it straight on when you get your food. Great times and look forward to going back every time on game day.“
“Wonderful laid back atmosphere that we lucked up finding after midnight still open and playing pool. Bartender was excellent (with beverages along with great conversation ?... "Rose" I think it was). Almost spotless - even the bathroom. I'm 48, my daughter-20, cousin-30; and we all enjoyed the whole experience. the music was on-point - even with our age differences. We can't wait to returrn.“
“Walking distance from the downtown hotels. Perfect spot for an after work drink or quick grub. Awesome place to watch sports with plenty of tvs and outdoor seating. Philly egg rolls were delicious and burger was so so. Fries were great. All in all cool vibe nice staff and service. Definitely recommend.“
“Love this Walk On's location. This location is better than the one located down corporate in town center. We had a very nice waitress, I don't remember her name but she had blonde curly hair. She was super sweet and made our experience great. We went on college night which was super packed and busy but our burger came out in a reasonable amount of time. College night is a great deal. The scholarship burger is only $5 and comes with fries and toppings. The burger was a little pink in the middle but is understandable with how many burgers they were probably cooking that afternoon. Loved that our waitress kept checking up on us and making sure we didn't need anything else.“
“Absolutely my favorite Bar. Mrs G is a fantastic and welcoming owner. Bartenders have changed but always polite and ontop of service. Very local bar, mostly regulars but be respectful and friendly will be reciprocated. Shuffle board table is pretty nice. I love the drink tokes that are bought( encourage people to buy each other drinks). +- can't smoke here anymore..“
“It was Great food! Season to perfection. I will definitely go back there. The presentation of the ribs isn’t attractive but the flavor and tenderness is definitely there. The owner was very hospitable which makes you feel very comfortable and willing to support. I highly recommend you going.“
“The place is much larger and nicer than I expected. I ordered from the lunch specials, which had over 15 options at the set $13 cost, which included egg roll, soup or salad, and entree. The furnishings are beautifully carved and breathtaking. My daughter ordered French fries. really? In a Thai restaurant? Lemme tell you, they nailed it. Crispy on outside and creamy on inside. All the food was like that, meaning prepared to perfection.Vegetarian options: Many entrees have tofu option“
“Jazz night every Friday!Multiple Televisions with sports!!Food is amazing!!!Hotels have restaurants, but the Sports Zone at the Holiday Inn has two of the best Bartenders in Baton Rouge. This is not your normal restaurant/bar.I picked this place over the local restaurants throughout Baton Rouge. This review will be updated.“
“The live music, the staff, he cold beer- you can’t go wrong. They always are having some type of event to bring the community together! The crawfish boil was great. I also love during football season they keep a variety of games on yet cater to the locals by keeping the sound on the tv just for LSU.“
“Our first time in here. They had a DJ playing music obnoxiously loud I don't normally complain about loud but I couldn't hear myself think, honestly I was getting a little nauseous. Julie had red beans and rice and I had a big ole burger. Food is really really good. There is a bar and a bunch of people having fun. There's tables outside but a bunch of smoker out there so that's not an option for me. All that aside they have pool tables and arcade games great big TVs and that DJ. If you want a rowdy good time this is great!! There's plenty parking it's clean and the staff is rocking the joint!!“
“Sammi is by far the hottest & coolest girl here! I highly recommend twin peaks, but Sammi is the gold standard of what you expect from twin peaks. I can't say enough, she is awesome & worth a trip!If you happen to go to twin peaks Baton Rouge be sure to ask for her to be your server.“
