“A friend referred me to Stone and Cloth last year, when I told her I was looking for a new stone for my breakfast table. My mother and I walked into their shop pre-lockdown and were warmly welcomed by Kelly Kirby. She gave me great suggestions for a replacement stone and a list of the Stone Distributors in town to search for my desired slab. Her suggestion for the marble was spot on and that’s the one we selected for our breakfast table. Since I placed my order during the lockdown, installation was delayed until phase 2 would allow for work to commence. During the waiting period, Kelly worked with me regarding having my existing breakfast table stone retrofitted for one of my bathroom counters. They removed the existing sink and under-mounted a new one to freshen up bathroom. At the same time, we realized the remaining piece of the slab for the breakfast table would fit perfectly in a second bathroom and a new sink under-mounted as well. We are very pleased with the excellent fabrication of all of the stone work and the installers had been polite, thorough and efficient. I highly recommend using Stone and Cloth for all of your building needs.“

“A Celiac-Friendly Gem in Baton Rouge.
On a one-way road trip June 13, my son and I stopped at Eliza Restaurant & Bar. We were staying the night in Baton Rouge and AI had called out Eliza as one of the better local cuisine restaurants with GF options. Walking in without a reservation, the hostess kindly found us a table—an unexpected courtesy that made us feel both lucky and welcome (making a reservation is highly recommended, I saw 3 others walk-ins turned away).

The real highlight was how incredibly celiac-friendly this place is. I enjoyed some of the best hush puppies I’ve had—fried perfectly in a dedicated gluten-free fryer. I had the Corn Fried Local Seafood (Gulf Shrimp, catfish, crawfish hush puppies and string fries) The food was flavorful and authentic, and without feeling oily at all. Our server, Morgan, was fantastic in walking us through all the safe options for celiacs. If I were a local, I’d be a regular here. Highly Recommend. Only regret is I live in WA state and won’t likely be back anytime soon. Great place!“

Matt and Jamar very thoroughly welcomed us in and served with a smile while having some pleasant conversation about our plans for the day and whatnot. (not the fake kind of obligatory customer service small talk)

While the food was excellent, the customer service from those two stood out the most.

Cut me off. Made rude facial expressions and Slick comments. As a person in the restaurant business. I know some days aren’t the best. Inside or out side of work. But No one deserves to be treated a certain way because it’s a “bad day” . It hasn’t just been 1 time either. Also seemed like the other employees are used to her behavior. Love the food. “Outstanding experience at Bay Leaf! Bobby was excellent - attentive, passionate, and genuinely cared about the quality of the food and overall experience. The butter chicken was absolutely amazing, and the desserts were completely over the top. I’ve had two client meetings here already, and it has been a great spot every time. I highly recommend Bay Leaf to anyone in Baton Rouge and the surrounding areas. I’ll definitely be back!
