The only off putting thing was the person next to us with their shoes off and feet all on the booth. We were sitting in the corner where it is one long booth against the wall with two tables by the exit.“
“I highly recommend the manager, the food, the entertainment, and the manager running us down across the boulevard when I forgot my purse. He played the piano, juggled his balls, cooked, served us, gave good directions, helped us back out and in general was a nice new friend to meet from mainland China. “We ended up at this place with my family looking for a cozy place to have coffee. This was the perfect spot for us.The kids had a blast and they enjoyed their drinks as well.Crème brûlée was delicious (better than STBX to be honest). The service was great. This whole area has been transformed from an electric company factory into bars, coffee house and retailers (gift stores).Definitely worth making it your spot to visit for coffee with family and friends.Parking: Parking is limited for the number of businesses- at least close by.Kid-friendliness: Nice space and good drinks like hot chocolate or cold drinks“

“My grandmother, mother and daughters went to the Tea Room on Saturday for lunch and tea. We’ve been several times before since they have reopened and honestly in the past when it’s been busy they just didn’t seem to have the staff to handle the crowd.However this last time I noticed they updated their menu and seemed to have everything down! It wasn’t busy but the sever Hayden was great and even though we were complicated with the kids he made sure our order was right. The atmosphere has always been wonderful and quaint. The kids love wearing the dress up hats and picking fancy tea cups. The tea is phenomenal and I even bought some to take home. It’s main purpose of course is a tea room so if you’re looking for a big lunch then it’s not what you want. But if you want a cute, cozy, friendly, spot of afternoon tea with light food and desserts they are PERFECT! We will continue to stop in for tea!!“
“OBSCURE / HIDDEN GEM! The atmosphere is no frills offering good food. Ms. Evelyn (I hope I got her name right) brings her skills and talent to work with her EVERYDAY this place is open for business. The food never disappoints. From the delicious fried chicken, fried catfish, red beans & rice, white beans (all beans served with whole sausage links) potato salad, macaroni cheese, peas, & much more! They have dessert and each meal comes with a corn muffin and tea. ONLY open weekdays from 11am to 2 pm. Very popular with the locals. That being said you will run into a crowd, DAILY. Well worth it! There are small areas indoors for eating but most get their food to go. They post Daily lunch menus on FACEBOOK. Check it out for accuracy. “This cafe is pretty good. There isn’t a lot of food options here that catches my eye, but the coffee is good along with the service for the most part. I think this cafe has a really nice atmosphere though. “This place was phenomenal!! Never heard of it when I lived in BR, but my son passes on his way to work and wanted to try while we were in town. The food and the service were both top notch! My husband and I shared the chicken fried steak breakfast and an order of French toast, and my son had a patty melt. We were planning on ordering something different, but the lady at the next table raved about the chicken fried steak and the gravy. HANDS DOWN the BEST I have ever had of either! Honestly the patty melt was super good, the hashbrowns and the French toast were really good, and the giant homemade biscuit too, but that thin, super tender, perfectly breaded and seasoned steak and that delicious gravy stole the show and I can’t wait to go back for my own plate of just that and maybe some of the grits with shrimp and corn soup which we didn’t try this trip. I have to review our server too. I HOPE Tom is his name. I didn’t catch it, and I called back and described him to the hostess and that’s the name she gave me. This guy brought back memories of when I used to wait tables in the French Quarter 20 years ago, he is a true pro- yes, there are professional servers, and omgosh i love them. If you don’t know what I mean, I hate it for you. Having a server who takes pride in attending, anticipating, suggesting, and truly making your experience seamless and enjoyable (like taking it upon himself to have our shared meal plated separately all the way down to the hashbrowns) is its own type of art gallery experience. Thanks to the whole establishment for a great meal!“
“I can not say enough wonderful things about this place. We walked in and it feels like you're at a friend's house with Nanny welcoming us at the door to the yummy food. They were so kind and generous. The owners loved on our kiddo and made us feel so comfortable even when he was being a bit much. ( Typically he does great but we had a 5 hour car rideandsome extra energy) I had the Pancakes grits eggs and bacon, my hubby has an omelette. It was generous portions and so very yummy!!! This is a definite do over!! Thank you to the ladies for making us feel like part of your family!!“

It was exceptionally crowded, and full of students, and that wasn’t what I was looking for environmentally, but otherwise a great place!Dietary restrictions: Thankful they had gluten free bread options. They mentioned treats, too, but I didn’t get any.“
“Bridgette was our server and she did an amazing job! As someone who comes from food service management, I pay attention to a lot of the aspects of a visit and she hit over the mark on every one. She was attentive, her spirits were high, her enthusiasm was apparent, and her follow-up was consistent. She always met our needs before we got the chance to ask and made sure we were comfortable and satisfied the entire time. She really laid the foundation for a supreme experience and I will definitely come back because of her.
