“Came in for Sunday breakfast and ordered banana fritters. They are more like thinner banana pancakes but not thin like crepes, dusted with sugar so gives kind of a churro vibe without the cinnamon. Cheesy grits were good and so was my iced dirty chai. Service was a little slow but there was only one person working the floor. Great little cafe for the price and location. Our party of four had the "BBQ" oysters and patte as appetizer; gumbo, steak and frittes, beet salad with blue crab and grilled duroc blade steak as main course, and shared the chocolate cake and bread pudding - all perfect. Very busy on the Monday visited and a bit louder than I would have preferred. That said, would definitely recommend and look forward to my next visit.“

Food is made as you order it. Always hot and delicious. You order at the counter and it is brought to your table with a very short wait. Service is great. The area is clean and kept that way. Tables are cleared shortly after someone leaves. The atmosphere is nice. Customers are respectful of others and you usually run into someone you know. An added perk is they have the best looking baristas around!“

“Traveling Foodie here! My husband and I visited the O’Reillys and asked them a good place to eat in town and they sent us to Joe’s! We are from Texas and was driving back to Gonzales from taking an airboat tour and we were hungry!! Food was amazing. I had the shrimp and grits, my husband got the JoJo special and we shared the Joe’s swamp fries and we at every bike! The swamp fries we ordered the sauce on the side and the fish had such a good breading on it, and the food was fresh right out of the kitchen!! The sauce was AMAZING they sell it by the package to take it with you!! I plan to go back because we did not try any of the beignets or pastries, they all looked amazing though and will be trying them SOON! It will be worth the drive and the husband and wife that works there at the Metairie location where as sweet as can be! Very helpful, very friendly and made us feel welcomed and right at home! Service was excellent, we were well taken care of! Thank you again for the wonderful meal and experience!🍽😍“
