“It was really interesting to learn a bit more about what life was like back then. It was a bit disappointing that photos are not allowed in the Big House, come on guys, it’s 2026. You can take pictures even inside Elvis Presley’s house. Otherwise I’m grateful the Oak Alley Foundation is keeping history alive, thank you!“

“For what could easily have just been a normal cafe tacked onto the plantation, we were really impressed by our lunch at this restaurant. Service was really friendly and quick (Hannah was lovely) and the food was so tasty. My wife had a blackened chicken sandwich with a side cup of chicken gumbo, and I tried the Cajun medley (red beans and rice with sausage, crawfish etoufee and chicken gumbo) which were all delicious, but particularly that gumbo. Definitely make time to stop for lunch here if you’re visiting the plantation.“
