Elsie’s is a favorite of mine so it was a no brainer to go there for my birthday back in March. It was the first time for my boyfriend, who’s from Kenner, and he was throughly impressed. We got the red bean hummus and crawfish queso to start because I think EVERY MEAL should start with those two. The delicious aroma catches you first. All that baked goodness is hard to resist. While I haven't tried the full breadth of their menu. Their meat pie was nice. The fries felt unusually hard, not crunchy or crispy, just hard. It was late so maybe we got an old batch. As someone who lives off of Australian Meat pies when I vist family overseas, I felt I had to give a local meat pie shop a chance. Definitely a different experience between the two. I plan to try the chicken next.
