“Native Texan that travels through Baton Rouge just to eat here. Me and my better half travel through Louisiana on our road trips to Florida. We like a stop rather than driving straight through. We ended up here by chance because it was walking distance from our hotel. It blew us away. We both enjoy fine dining and we like to stop at some of the best restaurants wherever we travel. We liked that everything (the food and cocktails) were well executed, but also there were some options that weren’t traditional and we can’t get anywhere else. They put their own flare on both the jerk chicken and the gator appetizer and they are a must try! It’s also a nice looking and comfortable restaurant. We will be visiting again in a few months and we can’t wait.“
“I've been here many times and have enjoyed a variety of entrees including the Catfish Perdu, Stuffed shrimp, crawfish etoufee and desserts.Wheelchair accessibility: My niece is a quadriplegic and accommodations for her were thoughtful.“
“Such a sweet and friendly atmosphere. 100% would recommend their amazing lunch specials topped with their special hospitality. When the owner found out we were from out of town for a gymnastics event he made it a point to come and welcome us to the establishment. He and our amazing waitress also made sure to wish our daughter the best if luck and wish on her gymnastics meet as we left.“
“The owner was so kind. The food was soo good and well seasoned. We baught the fried fish plate with shrimp fried rice. Omg so much flavor and fish cooked to order and it's wild caught! Not that farm raised fish! Would definitely recommend for weekday lunch spot!“
“Gluten free plates were devine. The catfish was cooked to perfection. Shrimp and grits so creamy and clean. All the food is sourced and cooked with finesse. Gluten free plates are prepared and cooked in there own fryer and grill so no cross contamination for celiacs like myself. My 6 year old daughter gobbled up her catfish. Couldnt ask for more. Service was personable and so friendly.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free celiacs friendly“
“I was particularly impressed by the service provided. We were a big party, and all of us got separate checks. The deck/patio in the second floor was amazing. We hung out after food and chatted with no rush to leave.Servers in Boston restaurants should learn some of this and give separate checks. It's not that hard ?.“
“We were on way home to Texas from New Orleans from the death of my son 2 days ago. We do not have a Sonny’s in Texas. It is my favorite restaurant of all time. Shannon was our waitress, she was AWESOME! She was sympathetic about my son. She was kind, professional, friendly. She was very attentive and checking on us. Then her manager Gwen came out so I could tell her about Shannon and she was also very nice. We went out of our to come here but it was well worth it.“
“One of my favorite places to eat when I'm the LSU side of BR. I've never had a bad experience in all the times I've visited. My favorite is the Kickin' Kay Lynne, followed by the Fancy Nancy, and Jalapeño Holly. I tried the Broccoli Salad today and I'm now a huge fan!Parking: Small, but there's always a spot avaliableKid-friendliness: Kids menu: Mac n cheese, turkey sandwich, pb&j, or chicken salad.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible and layout affords room to sit comfortably“
“Have had several lunches, frozen meal items and ordered catered meal for Christmas. This business runs like a well oiled machine. The employees are like family and you will become a part of it. The food is cooked with attention and care as it is always consistently good. Check out the deserts and wine selections as well. A hidden gem.“
“Lizzie’s catered a work lunch and WOW. The food was amazing. It was hot and ready when I picked it up and everyone at my office absolutely loved the food. The owner, Ricky, is super sweet and a pleasure to work with. I will most definitely be returning to Lizzie’s Restaurant!!!“
“At Ethel’s Snack Shack, my lunch experience surpassed expectations. The food, expertly crafted to order, was a delightful blend of flavors that left my taste buds thoroughly satisfied. The staff's warm greeting and prompt order-taking added to the inviting atmosphere. The camaraderie among patrons created a welcoming vibe, making me feel right at home. As I savored my meal, the attentive service continued with a timely delivery of piping-hot dishes within a mere 10 minutes. The repeated inquiries about my needs demonstrated a level of customer care that didn't go unnoticed.A standout feature was the thoughtful disposal service – rather than searching for a waste bin, leaving the tray on the table for the staff to handle exemplified their commitment to customer convenience and service excellence. While seating was ample, it's worth noting that peak lunch hours might lead to limited availability. Nevertheless, the overall experience at Ethel’s Snack Shack is a testament to their commitment to providing a great, hot lunch. Do keep in mind that while certain menu items are available daily, the added variety on select days adds an exciting touch to your dining options. A definite recommendation for those seeking a superb dining experience in the area.“
“I met the owner in the store today and she told she was picking up groceries for her menu today. She showed me pictures of her restaurant and told me to stop by for some good food. She was so warm and nice. I can't wait to go support her restaurant!!“
“My friend and I had an amazing time at the Sky Lounge. The music, food, drinks, atmosphere and service were all on point. I especially liked how Brad walked the room, ensuring that everyone was good and had what they ordered. In addition, our waiter, Kamron was really cool and friendly. This was service at its finest. We will definitely be back.“
“I would have never expected a delicious, inexpensive breakfast inside a hospital! I had the breakfast special, and the portions were generous at the amazing price of $7.95. Service was friendly (the owner brought my food to me upon noticing my cane), and the food was fresh, hot, and delicious. A real hidden gem in BR!“
“I had dined here with my date. I had a seafood pasta. The shrimp were not properly deveined, there were a few shells, and it lacked flavor. The presentation was nice. The server was knowledgeable and made lots of eye contact. I would dine here again, but definitely would try something else.“
“Best bbq I have had in a long time. Food was at the table before we knew it and it was amazing! Our service was promptly given and we literally got what we wanted before we asked for it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming/relaxing. I definitely will go back and I have already told most of my buddies how dang good everything was. Last but not least the price point was very agreeable to me . We had a wonderful time affordable. I recommend this place highly.“
“Excellent food and service, very pleasant experience from the hostess to server. Came in at happy hour today with family and first time in the new location. I had been to the restaurant in the previous spot several times since they opened in Baton Rouge and always a pleasure. The chicken and ribs are highly recommended. We had an issue with the check and the manager came over and corrected it. I greatly appreciate the professionalism of the staff each time i visit either solo or with family.“
“I took a chance and it paid off! Nice, clean inviting place with excellent customer service. Ribs and brisket were cooked to perfection. Being that I ordered to go, I'm so upset I didn't get the Cashier's name but not only was he super cute but also very helpful. Next time I'm in town, this will be my first food stop. This review is for the Government Street location in Baton Rouge, LA.“
“Chicken wings buffalo, rotisserie chicken, chicken sandwich, and chicken tenders were all prepared excellent and dipping sauce was good. Clean and good smelling place. Parking was easy and right in front. The bathroom was clean and stocked. Prices were normal for the food. Service was knowledgeable and quick. Fries not entirely good, Mac and cheese good, salad with the vinegarette was a little extra, liked the celantro.“
“The food was so delicious, and the atmosphere was nice. I usually don't like lamb chops, but these tasted amazing and had a beautiful presentation. The coconut shrimp was on top of a homemade mango pineapple salsa that was so good I would've bought some if it were for sale. We will definitely be going back because there are other dishes on the menu that I'm excited to try!!“
“Great brunch and cocktail menu. I really enjoyed the seafood omelette. I would have liked more crabmeat on top of it. Next time I'll get a side of toast with the omelette. The black cherry old fashioned was outstanding. We'll definitely eat here “
