I came here for a work Christmas luncheon. The food was great and the service was exceptional! I would recommend patronizing this place.

2nd Vist 2/22/24 4pm-5pmThis place once again was amazing. Our sever Misty was so friendly, attentive and gave the best customer service that we've had in a long time.I had the fries combo of shrimp and oysters, my mom had the catfish and oysters. So darn delicious! Took my mom here to show her that we still have amazing local restaurants in Baton Rouge.Got a to go poboy of roast beef for my husband. It was real roast beef not slices and a day later he is still talking about how it was the best RB poboy he's ever had.We definitely will be going back and telling friends and family.Lady at the bar was super awesome! 2/16 left at 7:30pm. Food was fantastic ? ?! Crab cakes and stuff mushrooms were divine. I had Ceasar salad with fried shrimp and my hubby had fried oysters, all heavenly. If you like drinks try the dark & stormy, man this is a bomb cocktail. We will definitely be back soon and often.

Always amazing, but tonight was somehow that bit extra magical. Food is awesome, Candace is friendly as always, and the new hire Trinity was very attentive to keeping my glass full, and all very pleasant people. We've been coming here for years, but this time was a cut above. Bravo Zulu!

I expected the gumbo to be good, but I was surprised that it might have been the best I’ve ever had.

Great food and great service. We were a group of 20 and the staff didn't miss a beat. The gumbo, the seafood platter and the fried oyster poboy were all wonderful. So were the cheesecake desserts. Highly recommend.

Really enjoyed our after church lunch here. Everything was prepared to perfection, staff was really friendly and food came out quickly. Also, as a graduate of LSU, I love the decorations! Greaux Tigers.

My mom and I stopped in yesterday for a quick lunch! Cafe Americain has always been a hidden gem in Baton Rouge. It's tucked away on Jefferson in a small shopping center. We ordered some of the best crab and broccoli soup you'll ever have along with an order of sweet potato hush puppies. OMG. It's the best comfort food on a cold or warm day. Definitely try them out and they have specials throughout the week!

The crawfish ettoueffe over catfish was terrible. This fish had no flavor and it was fried hard. The batter was thick and you could pull it off and the fish was just there. It also tasted weird. Essentially I could have eaten the batter…then the fish. The cook/manager came out to tell me that fish I had and my friends fish were fried the same. Hence making the attempt to say we had the same food. He grabbed the plate and said I’ll give you some catfish fingers. I agreed and asked not to have the dirty rice either. The dirty was hunks of meat with very little rice. The boudin balls were tasty and the crawfish etoueffe was good. The food and experience was not worth my Friday evening out.
