Cheng's Restaurant and Bar Reviews
The flavorful sauces have me hooked! I love the tangerine beef! It’s worth a try if you’re looking for good Chinese food.
We were in town for a baseball tournament and our children wanted some rice and noodles. We stopped in here because of the reviews and they did not disappoint.
The fried rice was delicious! We also enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken and egg drop soup.
What made the experience so pleasant was the staff. The owner came over and talked with us for a bit. He was very friendly and personable. Our server was also very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place!
It was such a pleasure to go to Cheng’s. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. The waitress kept our glasses filled and continued to check on us to make sure everything was good. She was very sweet. The owner came and talked to us after our meal and we just had to let him know how much we miss him and the food in Hammond. They are the nicest people. Will be going back now I know where they are. We miss China Garden!!! But it’s on now for Cheng’s!!!

Cheng's Restaurant and Bar offers an enjoyable dining experience with delicious food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. Standout dishes include the Wuxi Pork Rib and Hofun, along with chicken dishes, edamame, and lo mein. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients, and the staff consistently provides good service. Customers often mention that the food is cooked fresh and flavorful, and the welcoming environment feels like visiting family. The owner is known for being calm and engaging with guests, making each visit special. The restaurant's warm ambiance features a partition with colored changing lights behind floral cut outs, adding a touch of class to the dining area. Visitors can also enjoy a sense of its history, with a large photo of the Cheng family on the wall, highlighting the personal touch and tradition behind the place. Many enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, helpful servers, and the tasty appetizers like egg rolls and dumplings. The green tea is a popular drink choice. Cheng’s continues to be a great spot for those seeking tasty meals and friendly service.
