The service and food is some of the best in Baton Rouge! You can tell they cook everything in the restaurant and they don't take shortcuts. The owner came to check on me and made a cocktail for me called "Japanese Water" which was delicious. I will certainly recommend this place to friends and I definitely will be back!

They got my order wrong and the chicken was disgusting

It's good! They have a "homestyle" authentic Chinese menu if you ask, which has additional dishes. We were impressed with the quality of the lion's head meatballs and beef chow fun. The accompanying vegetables were cooked nicely crisp-tender.

Food is delicious. Price is reasonable. Service is great. A little surprise that an excellent restaurant in the town. Even we stayed up late about 9:30pm, we chatted with owner for a while. Love to visit again.

Nice and clean restaurant, nice staff, but the food had very little flavor. I got the pork dumplings, lo mean, steak fried rice, and they all needed seasoning. The sesame chicken was delicious. Drinks were delicious.

**Subject: Exceptional Dining Experience at Cheng's Restaurant and Bar**
Dear Fellow Foodies,
I am writing to express my utmost satisfaction and appreciation for the exceptional dining experiences I have had at Cheng's Restaurant and Bar over the past four years. Throughout my numerous visits, I have consistently encountered remarkable food quality, attentive and professional staff, and an owner, Mr. Philip, who genuinely values and cares for his customers.
The Mongolian dish, featuring finely sliced beef stir-fried with yellow and green onions in a mildly spicy sauce, stands out as a personal favorite. The Five Spices Chicken and Stir-fry Green Beans are also highly recommended for their delectable flavors and textures. Additionally, the Pork & Vegetable Dumplings, available pan-fried or steamed and accompanied by the restaurant's signature sauce, are a must-try.
I wholeheartedly recommend Cheng's Restaurant and Bar to anyone seeking an exceptional dining experience. The establishment's commitment to culinary excellence, attentive service, and customer satisfaction is truly commendable.

This place has great food and the people who work there seem nice. However, the last time I was there, the television screens were devoted to coverage of one particular Presidential candidate. I do not care about the political leanings of the staff, ownership or the patrons, but had no desire to experience our problematic political divide while I was eating. Strongly suggest sticking to sports or just turning the screens off.

The flavorful sauces have me hooked! I love the tangerine beef! It’s worth a try if you’re looking for good Chinese food.
Me and my husband ate here today, the atmosphere was lovely! Very classy and not too expensive! Waiter Benjamin was excellent! He attended to all of our needs and gave us great options! He made sure our cups were filled and he even made sure our one year old son was full! I loved it and will definitely be coming back
The food was absolutely delicious and service was top notch. If I’m guessing it right this place is owned by a family member of Mr. Jeffrey Cheng who owned Hunan’s Chinese restaurant for many years on Sherwood Forest. There was a family portrait hanging on the wall that had Mr Jeffrey Cheng in the picture. I highly recommend the place if you loved going to Hunan’s many years ago when Mr Jeffrey Cheng ran the restaurant.!!!!

As a native Californian, my Asian taste buds are quite polished, so I was very excited to walk into Cheng's and smell the authentic Chinese aroma wafting through the air. The ambiance resembles a class Chinese restaurant. The food was A+! The only downside to my experience was that waiters/staff walked past me several times without acknowledging me as I stood at the hostess booth. I had to finally get the attention of the lady at the bar in order to place my order.
I believe that all people should be serviced in a timely manner and hope there was no pre-conceived judgment, that caused the lack of servicing
Despite that flaw, I will be back for sure.
