Everyone was very nice on my first visit to the restaurant. Food was fresh and hot and came out quickly. Majority of their dishes are pasta based. They do offer chargrilled oysters, so I will go back to try those. In this trip I ordered the eggplant medallions over pasta with a side salad. They give you a nice portion of food so I definitely felt like I got my moneys worth. However, the food was bland and very little seasoning. If that’s what you’re looking for cool, but I require a bit more spice.

Restaurant was very clean and staff was extremely sweet especially my host and my waiter. My side salad was very fresh no brown weathered lettuce and that was very appreciated as well as the utensils was clean no water stains or anything. Only thing that i did not like was upon ordering and it being my first time visiting i noticed that the menu said no refunds and all sales are final. I ordered the chicken breaux bridge and it came out looking very presentable but it wasn’t tasty. It was something about the Alfredo sauce or maybe the chicken im not sure but I didn’t like it and my french bread tasted like it could’ve had some type of chemical residue on it from the grill. I was even scared to tell my waiter due to what the menu said but I did it any way. He was so polite about it but I don’t know if the elderly Caucasian woman with the blonde hair is the manager or owner she must’ve told him no to a refund but said that they wouldn’t mind getting me something else to eat which was fine to me but come to find out I had to pay for the other meal which wasn’t my plan but all is well. I did not like that when I asked for a manager she stood right there and heard me and still don’t come to see and I was extremely polite with saying i didn’t like it. Then she went to the back and I watched her scold my waiter for my request. Again awesome wait staff, host and table buster but not so nice elder white manager with blonde hair.

We love City Cafe, But... The last two times I've been there for a group party, an older woman (might be the owner) practically freaks out over any small request. Even adding a chair for someone unexpected sends her into clenched jaw mode with a shrill response. It's a small request for an unexpected attendee. She should be used to this in the restaurant business. These are not my parties. I've only been an attendee, but I feel bad for the host because the response from this woman is cringe worthy. They add on an automatic 20 percent gratuity. Calm down!

Only wished we could give more than 5 stars...City Cafe is a lunch experience using old time recipes that always work. Their specials are worth going out to O'Neal Lane to try their lunches. The staff are great and the food, is fantastic.Long-time local restaurant, feels like our own neighborhood place to go...Because it is.Try it. You will not be disappointed. And wait until the crawfish start running...their boiled seafood is second to none.

This was my first time visiting.my waitress was very pleasant.the char grill oysters was cooked differently from others places I have tried but they was good.i wanted to try there catfish dish but they was out of the catfish. So we got the drum dish it was good also.
First time coming after I've heard some good things. Front door people were very professional, place smells both good from the food and the cleanliness. Ordered some chargrilled oysters to start, reluctantly. They were amazing and done fast. Then had entrees. Lots of great locals I recognize frequent here. Well stocked high quality bar inside and out, TVs for sports are in view from any seating. They have live music some nights. I even spoke to some employees about their management and owners application and quality of work atmosphere and everyone assured me this is my new local spot. Very excited and so far so good

Party of 4 came in on a Friday night everything was great! Ordered fried cheese, chargrilled oysters, blacked chicken pasta, shrimp royal and grilled tuna. Everything was hot and delicious.
