So my experience at City Pork on Highland was amazing. The interior was clean and modern. I believe our servers name was Aisha, and I was honestly having a bad day and she made me feel so much better with her kindness and hospitality. My meal was the Pork Belly Hoagie and I would rate that an 8.5/10. I think if it had some pickled onions on it to balance the richness from the pork belly, it would be even more amazing. Although it did come with a pickle, but I didn’t really care for that, it was too sweet for my liking so I give that a 4/10. I also had a side of coleslaw, and it had this peppery taste, which I actually enjoyed, while it was still sweet (but not too sweet) and crunchy. I’ll give that a 7.5/10. My husband got the smoked chicken and he would give that a 9.5/10, because he wanted even more because it was so good.

I spent over $100 and was disappointed. The wild boar flautas were just perfect but the brisket and pulled pork had absolutely NO FLAVOR! I had to season it myself. The beans were more flavorful than the meat. I didn't even receive bbq sauce with the bbq platter. I won't be getting the brisket or pulled pork ever again. I will however get the flautas and pork schnitzel again if I go back.

Food has no flavor and ribs was dry. Not impressed won’t be back. Sonny is better and cheaper.

I want to lead with that this review is solely based on food and not on service or atmosphere. I don’t know what the deal is with this location, but every time I eat here, the food is not good. The Jefferson location is beyond amazing every time, but there is some sort of disconnect between that one and this one.

I only order the brisket sandwich with Mac n cheese, it’s my absolute favorite. I ordered this meal Friday night and there must have been 1 ounce of meat on my sandwich. It was pathetic. After I put together my entire sandwich, while it was good, all I tasted was bread because that’s how little meat I had. And I’m sorry, but that is not a cheap sandwich and they put way more meat at the Jefferson location.

What also disappointed me, was the Mac n cheese. It had ZERO flavor. The plainest mac I’ve ever eaten. 0/10 would recommend. And there was no breadcrumbs like the one at Jefferson.

I’ve now tried this location 5 times and every time I am disappointed. I even hyped up the brisket sandwich to friends and they said they didn’t care for it. They need to figure it out at Highland because every one I spoke to about this agreed with me.

Entered to have breakfast and read a sign that directed us to the bar area only. Every table had a reserved sign on it so we proceeded to the bar to ask if seating only at the bar was available. The two employees didn't seem to understand the reason for the question. It was finally clarified that any empty table was available. The original table we had chosen was by them occupied by someone who evidently knew that the reserve signs meant nothing, leaving us with only a tiny table or bar height tables to choose from.
The coffee maker was broken, thus no coffee at breakfast. Perhaps a complimentary beverage could have been offered in lieu of the traditional breakfast bev not being available. With our breakfast meal, which included biscuits, no butter or jelly was included or offered. When asked for, one tiny jelly was brought. The men's restroom was in horrendous shape. Water, towels, etc. strewn all over. The food was delicious. The grits were superb and the bacon was some of the best I've had. The strawberries were delicious, juicy and sweet. It was our first time trying their breakfast and we were glad they were open, they didn't seem to be so glad.

I had high hopes for this place. I just didn’t enjoy the food. The brisket wasn’t very good. No seasoning and cut the wrong direction which makes it stringy and hard to eat. This is a specialty bbq high end restaurant and you don’t know how to cut brisket and don’t understand salt and pepper go along way. My sampler plate also had ribs, sausage, and pulled pork. Sadly I didn’t enjoy any of them either. Sides were even plain. I love to smoke meat and seek out places to try when I’m on the road and usually always find something good to say about what I have but this was just a failure in my book. The server I had was very nice and attentive. The restaurant is very nice and has a surprisingly upscale feel for a bbq house which honestly worried me when I walked in lol every good place I’ve been is either a hole in the wall place or has a great theme with a relaxed atmosphere where you don’t worry about getting messy ribs all over your face lol nothing wrong with having and elegant restaurant but I just feel it’s for elegant food. Just my thoughts. When I pay for food I want good food, this was blah.

Food is always good. But beware of the local draft beer prices! Tin Roof Voodoo is $13.00 and Octoberfest was $9.00!

It’s the highest craft beer prices in America!

After hearing about the "brunch" some of my family joined me for (what we thought would be a yummy experience) dine in occasion, but we were wrong. The place wasn't thoroughly cleaned from the day/night before, we had to wipe a few crumbs off of the table and chairs before we sat down. I had to settle for grits because after I placed my order for hashbrowns about maybe 15 or more minutes later I was told there weren't any. The grits were spoiled, surprisingly everything else was ok. We probably won't be returning here, this was such a crazy FIRST time experience.

Our recent visit to this location was very disappointing. The only saving Grace here is the bar area and the cocktails they serve. The honey, badger cocktail was quite good. We started by ordering the crawfish queso and pork skins appetizer. Then we ordered the club sandwich to split with the “hand cut” fries up charge option. When the appetizer arrived l, they had substituted homemade potato chips for the pork skins. They asked us, after the fact, if this was ok we said no of course since this is City Pork after all. They said they were making more pork skins but implied that it would take too long. I wonder if they were planning to charge us the full price with that substitution? After they took the appetizer back, they asked if we wanted something else. We looked at the menu, but thought the appetizer would come out at the same time as the entrée, so we declined another appetizer. At that point the club sandwich showed up with lukewarm fries (potentially held up for the appetizer) which strangely resembled McDonald’s fries. I must say if these are hand cut by them, they are an incredibly accurate knock off. But if you’re going to up charge for “hand cut” fries, make sure they are hand cut fries and hot. As for the sandwich, I don’t think I would recommend it since the only positive is their meat (what little there is). There’s also not much in the way of any dressing or mayo, there is only the slightest hint of honey mustard. That said I hope this is not indicative of all locations but I would definitely not recommend this location for a lunch dining experience.

Terrible customer service and terrible management. They can’t seem to get the their orders correct and make no effort to fix their mistakes. I will not be doing business with them anymore.

Absolute worst customer service! This is the second time that my husband and I ordered brisket burgers to go to be given brisket sandwiches and they only offered a 4.00 refund as that is the price difference between the two items. We received no apology for their mix up, and the manager refused to speak to us. They also never remember to give bbq sauce or avocado sauce with their appetizer. Definitely won’t be back!! Needs new management!!!

I have never experienced such terrible customer service from this place as I have for the last few months. My family and I frequent here often, and have always had good experiences until recently.

My parents, a brother and son went for breakfast Aug 7th around 9:30ish. Service was initially prompt and that is the only acceptable thing besides the atmosphere about the dining experience. The 3 milks and one chocolate milk brought to the table were spoiled. Obvious clumps of sour milk. They were replaced easily at least. My parents were very dissatisfied with their breakfast of pancakes( tough); the biscuit was dry and underwhelming and the sausage gravy had been left off my dad’s plate. The server asked if it was wanted but my mom was put off by the milk incident and the fact that we were the only ones there and attention to the meal should have been better. My pancakes were disappointing for the same reason as my mom’s reason. My brother had ordered the pork belly omelette with pancakes, pancakes never came. We guessed the server didn’t hear him. He was disappointed with the omelette as well. The son was happy with his breakfast sandwich at least. I realize we were near the end of the breakfast time, but did expect the meal to be better than it was.
