Great coffee and beignets
Coffee Call was so good, I found myself back the very next morning! What started as a quick stop for a classic beignet and café au lait turned into a full-on food experience.
During my first visit, I ended up trying the turkey po’ boy and a comforting bowl of chicken noodle soup—and I’m so glad I did. A kind server walked me through the steps of building my perfect po’ boy, which made the experience feel extra personalized. After that, I joined the line to place an order for the beignets, and let me tell you—they were pillowy, warm, and just the right amount of sweet.
They were so good, I came back the next morning to grab another batch to take home!
The overall vibe at Coffee Call is relaxed and inviting. The pace is calm, and every staff member I interacted with was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, don’t hesitate to give this place a try. It’s a Baton Rouge staple for a reason!
Edit: still really slow, don't go here if you don't have much time. What use is there to get something to eat if you're appetite is going to be ruined?
A tad bit slow but pretty good! And I would say good portion size also not as dry as other places I've had
One of the best experiences I have ever had since the cafe du mondu in New Orleans. The beignets were beyond expectations... Awesome! I thought it was not to be compared with the cafe Do mondu but by far the head chef, Red was extraordinary and the magic that he put in the making of the beignets are legendary... If you ever get the opportunity do yourself a treat... You will not regret it!!!
I was in town for a meeting and couldn’t leave Louisiana before getting some beignets! Of course I googled and found Coffee Call.
I just finished a most delectable lunch of a Baton Rouge po boy and chicken and sausage gumbo. To round this out I had cooked to order beignets. Hot fluffy and COVERED in powdered sugar.
EVERYTHING was amazing and the staff was so friendly and patient in showing me how to order. I loved everything about this cozy place. I can’t figure out how to add photos but seriously, just take my word for it and go! You
Coffee Call was absolutely delicious, the staff there was very welcoming and warm, and if felt as if you had just been at a good friend's house for Coffee. 10/10 will return
I had some beignets. coffee smooth and tasty.
My daughter goes to LSU. I was looking for a coffee place that WAS NOT Starbucks. Found this gem. It's now my go to place for Beignets and Cafe au Lait whenever I visit. Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere.
Great, Great, Great.

In short, and contrary to name of the restaurant, this is not really a coffee shop, it more of a restaurant with fried food. The coffee they served was either drip, or a very sweet iced coffee.
I can’t say I’d return.

i love the atmosphere, it's not too cold, it's lively, the beignets are so delicious, the coffee is good and the cocoa is fantastic.
i especially love the opening hours (i come from germany, where cafés don't stay open that late)
i can just come here in the evening with my boyfriend, eat, drink, read, chat and do that until midnight. those are my favorite nights :)
